Is there any way to make the default setting for the auto shut-off "off" instead of having to hit the "off" button every time you start the car? It bothers me way more than it should; to the point that I don't like the car as much as I otherwise would. In my 991 the default setting is "off" and you have to hit the button to turn the shut-off on, which is how it should be.

Any help appreciated. Dealer says it can't be disabled.

 

What year is cayenne. On my 12 and 13 it was defaulted off. On my 14 it's defaulted on and I hate it.

 

Mine is a '15. So aggravating to be rolling up to a stop light or sign and the engine shuts off, along with the power steering. The worst is when I'm pulling into my garage going slow and it shuts off.

 

I thought the power steering was electric and not driven by the engine. On mine as long as there is pressure on the accelerator the engine keeps running so going into my garage isn't an issue.

 

I have a 14 and once it's off, it's off. Sound like 15s are different. It's crazy that it operates that way on the 15s. I actually wouldn't buy one because of it.

 

Thats gotta be annoying. Can you save the 'off' setting to your memory key setting? Dealer can't change the programming to be default off?

 

First thing I tried was to program with the key doesn't work just like program sport mode to always be on

 

I asked the dealer about this, and as of model year 2015 and beyond, Porsche does not allow them to disable it. They don't even have the option, apparently. Frustrating!

 

It is a little weird not disturbing until the wheel is immobile. If you could still turn the wheel then I wouldn't mind it at all. It does stop earlier than other brands like my dads s550 2014
