Quote: If you are toggling the on off switch on the PM with the car off and the light stays on something is not wired right. When i flip my on/off toggle on/off the green light reacts according (instantly). Can you post a pic of the wiring in your fuse box. Also if you have a volt tester, make sure your RED wire going to the PM has NO power with the car off. If it still has power you need to find an ACC fuse that switches off with the key.
Mine is working just like yours. If car is OFF the power button works just like its suppose to.

The red wire goes to a fuse that only gets power when the car is on. The yellow to a fuse that is always on.

My replacement arrived and this one works.

Car off/PMP on = green light on
Car on/PMP off = green light on

Ok, maybe I misread your post. Thought the light was always on.

Anyway, maybe try to switch the toggles to all OFF so it is set to 12v (instead of 11.8) and 6 hours max and see if that helps. If so try that for a few days. Then you can try to turn toggles 3-5 on again to remove the 6 hour window and see if it still works (battery doesn't die).

My original pm was having the power issues but the new one seems to be working like everyone else regarding the power light.

Can you explain the 4 volt options? I tried setting it on 23.2v and 22.8v but the unit does not power on at all in those setting. I figured the higher the V the more power my battery will have...

They work as the "bottom of the range" so when you voltage drops below that level is shuts off the PM. Your Porsche runs in the 12-14v range. So the 23.2 and 22.8 would never allow the PM to turn on (as you are always below that).

Selecting the 12v (instead of 11.8) will shut off the PM a little sooner and may help. The back up is the timer, it shuts off after X hours. So my suggestion was to try both, see if it works and then back off the timer to see if the voltage alone solves your problem. You can do just voltage alone first if you prefer. Then if it works, you are good...if not, turn on the timer to have it shut off at 6 hours regardless of voltage.

Thanks for the info! Which year cayenne do you have? I had a 2012 and 13 and didn't have any issues with the same system. For some reason my 2015 is having all these issues. I've also noticed that with the 2015 I get a message regarding battery protecting kicking in sometimes. Wonder if it's something new with the 958.2 cayennes.

I have a 2015 also..but mine is the S eHybrid...so I have an extra 384v battery in the back that can probably power the camera for 2 years before running out

I have not had seen a msg about battery protection.

Same issue today. Pm set on 12v and lowest time of 12 hour.

Going to unplug it and see if the car dies at all without the camera hooked up.

Saw in your other post that it was a bad battery. Well at least we ruled out the PM from being bad. Good luck with the battery issue.

Yeah, had the battery tested and said it was bad. Not I'm crossing my fingers that the PM wasn't the actual cause of the bad battery... Did some research online and there are several sites and videos that state not to use the PM on Porsches but don't really explain why. I have had it on several other Porsches and never had any issue but I also drove those vehicles more on a daily basis. Will figure it out once I get a new battery in her. Thanks again for all your help!
