958 Turbo Brakes - info needed..

Anyone have torque spec's for the 958 Turbo front brakes? Red caliper, non-ceramic rotors (plain steel rotors)?

And are there any one-time-use bolts?

TIA!

I'm no expert but I've had them off a few times on my diesels. I use about 90 pounds and while they may be supposedly one time use, like most are, including my race car that I reuse regularly, there is no reason to replace them, especially on a radially mounted caliper like yours.

Thanks Mike - so far - on 3 forums - your's is the only response. Almost makes me think 958 owners aren't DIY types (probably still a lot of 1st owners with deep wallets..)

Ended up subscribing to alldata for a year. Torque value on the Turbo is 104ft/lb (140Nm.) I think I'll source some replacement bolts.. and I have ordered the special "assembly pins" that allow sliding the caliper up out of the rotor position, and working on it in-situ. Cost was about $40 from vw.snapon.com - who apparently distributes VW tools.

Next I have another question - which I'll ask in another thread..

BTW - so far the cheapest part of this job is the brake pads. Found an "open-box" set of pads on Amazon - for $30/2-wheels/front. Got them the other day and they're perfect. Beats the $300/per-wheel price from Porsche.

*edit* whoops....I read your question wrong! No need to replace the bolts if you're not tracking the car. lol

The front brake calipers all essentially all use the same Brembo sourced 6 piston caliper. They're just painted different colors to differentiate teh models. Black for the base models, silver for the S models, red for GTS and Turbo models, neon green for hybrid models, and yellow for the Turbo S models.

That's not what Porsche says. They adamantly recommend replacing them since the radial mounted calipers use them as stretch bolts.

Really? Same caliper fits everything from 340mm disks to 410mm disks? I find that somewhat hard to believe.

Upon further investigation you are correct. I stand corrected. It looks like the Cayenne has 2 sets of 6 pot calipers.

what rotors are you guys using when replacing the stock ones?

i was looking at getting these guys
http://www.carid.com/2012-porsche-ca...-48038635.html

I've used EBC rotors/pads on my BMWs/Mercedes cars and have been very happy with them.

Just curious what you guys would recommend. The car is a 2012 CTT
