New To Us 2014 Base Platinum Edition

After 6 years and 100,000 miles with a BMW X5 Diesel, my wife is moving to a 2014 Cayenne Platinum Edition. It only has 24,000 miles on it and is CPO, so we get the 6 yr/100,000 warranty!

She picks it up tonight.

This is our first Porsche. She has always been a BMW girl since 2000.

I will certainly not miss the DEF refills during oil changes!

I am only now beginning to lurk on the forum to learn what I can about maintenance, TSB, and recall information.

Bear with me if I have questions due to ignorance.

I'm a Jeep guy and have spent much of my time working, building, restoring them.

Nice! Really like the black wheels. My wife likes black wheels, but that is the only item this one did not have. Got home too late to take a picture, and I'm traveling today. From the quick once-over I did in the garage I'm psyched to drive it.

I had to intervene on something the dealer tried to sell my wife. They got her to agree to a Zurich Shield coating for the paint and leather. I did some research and it seems like "snake oil" to me. never have to wax... come on... They want $550 for this treatment.

I think that money is better spent on details over the next 3 years.

Well, I thought I had my wife convinced not to apply this snake oil, but she tells me otherwise. A wise person once said to me "If the moma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

I finally got to check the car out this morning as the coffee was brewing. The first thing I notice is the second hand is lying at the bottom of the clock!

My wife says "there is a second hand?"

Yup, I don't know if it was always off or happened after she picked it up. Regardless, it is going back to be addressed.
