Well, it's trivial to address. The post is just 1-3/8 tube, but it has a 2-1/8" deep reduction at the end (down to 1-7/32) in order to slide into the wheeled base.

I just have to find a local shop that actually has the right kind of bender to do the job. Seems a lot of 'muffler shops' these days are just slapping standard parts together and often have NO tube bending equipment or stock for it.

I wouldn't call it 'more trouble than it's worth' just not plug-and-play. I did some STFW and see there's a number of european suppliers that make such trees for wider tires. But haven't run across any on-shore suppliers as yet.
