2013 Cayenne GTS (new to me)

Hi everyone,

I've had this for two weeks now and have been enjoying the new toy. I have liked the looks and performance of this car for a long time and this is my 8th Porsche.

Three quick questions:
1) given the $106k MSRP, and prior articles that I have read on GTS, I had thought that GTS models were all keyless including startinf the engine. My friend's Macan has a key stub, he turns.
In this case, the keyless is not listed in the options, so can this be upgraded?
2) in soft mode, GTS seems to be very firm, even compared with prior 2006 Cayenne TTS that I test drove. Is that right?
3) on slowing down to stop sign or red light, I will sometimes feel the gear downshift - is that normal?
Tks in advance.

Patrick

keyless/entry is an option. sounds like it wasn't.

did both have PASM?

I feel gearshift downshift on my diesel, especially in sport mode using the paddles.

Tell us more about your GTS. I love the GTS! Who doesn't?

2013 GTS story

Yes it did have PASM along with LOTS of options, thus the $106k MSRP. I think my favorite is the carmine red interior w/ black leather & red stitching & matching red seat belts.

Honestly, I was very content with my white/Blk 2003 C4S even as I've enjoyed both white/black CLK55 AMG cab as well as E63 also white/black the past 7 yrs(since sold). My friend has a 2015 Macan S coming off lease in great condition for $4k less than market value so I was thinking of enjoying it for a couple of years, but it was a bit too small.

This past month I saw listed a 2013 Cayenne GTS for sale by original owner fully loaded and Porsche dealer serviced w/ 2+ years of extended warranty. The car had 60k miles for being 4 years old so not low, but certainly reasonable. Plus it was immaculate with zero ding/scratches with clear protector and just had 60k service done . AND it was white/black and calling my name...I could not say no.

It has only been 8 days and I have not driven it very much yet, but it's been awesome to drive and look at. The only surprise is that it's much firmer than I expected in our pothole neighborhood, more than I recall in regular Cayenne S or TTS (957 a 2006 model). Other than that, I just wondered if GTS had keyless start built in if I purchased a dummy key.

Tks all.

Numbered questions - you got me!

1. It can't practically be upgraded. KESSEY isn't a simple system. There are external antennas and internal antennas and controlling modules and wiring harnesses. You're better off selling this one and buying one with KESSEY if it's a must-have for you.
2. Probably. I believe it starts off lower than the TT or TTS- plus the 2006 very likely has some well-aged suspension on it - so that will make a difference.
3. Yes - normal. More noticeable in "Sport" mode.

Thank you for your comments. I have spent the last day trying to figure out how to upgrade the Bose stereo including the tweeters. I just turned off the surroundsound as well as all of the boosts and voilà, the stereo sounds very very good now, the way it was meant to.
I am now spending an hour to copy over some of my favorite songs from USB to the hard disk. This way I can save the USB for charging my iPhone.
Ps. My car was on the lower ride setting, but once I put it into the middle setting for the height, the ride is actually much more comfortable now.

The firmness has to do with the different rebound rates of the GTS suspension. It will always be firm even in comfort.

The turbo in my opinion has the more balance ride especially with PDCC. Comfortable and supple on long stretches but when the PDCC kicks in on the twisties, the nose stays completely flat with the comfortable ride.

haha now it made sense why the seller stopped responding to my questions I was looking at the same car. Do you mind pm me how much you got the car for? I'm still in the market for a Cayenne GTS.
