Swapping from 14-way seats to 18-way seats

Hi!

I am about to replace my 14-way seats with 18-way seats.
I have googled, but cannot find a DIY.
-There must have been someone that has done this before. -Are the connectors for the seats the same? Is it more or less straight swap?
-I have PIWIS 2 for coding, so that part is sorted.

Answers appreciated

Please take notes and photos. Being Porsche - chances are it won't be as simple as unplugging and plugging in the swapped seats. The car is a very much "bespoke" car - it's built to the selected options, and that generally includes the wiring harness.

Might I ask - have you done any extended driving in the 18-way "Sport" seat? Depending on your physique the 18-way seat may not be as comfortable as the 14-way "comfort" seats.

THIS.

I'm a big guy and the 18-way were not comfortable, at all. My wife is not (5'5" and thin) and likewise disliked the 18-way seats. So, yeah, Don's advice of being sure about their comfort is worth bearing in mind.

Also, do you have the entry and drive option? Because that has to integrate with the seats in order to remember and reset them. It'd likely require a dealer/factory PIWIS database edit to make the change.

For everybodys info the swap has now been done.
I've got two dislocated discs in my lower back and longer trips has been a challenge for me. For the first time longer trips has been a pleasure.

Front seats was a straight swap. Same connectors and all. -Control units was missing in my new sport seats and I removed them from the comfort seats and over to the sport seats. -Right away the four new extra functions did not work. Had to do "seat normalization" through PIWIS and recode from 14-way seats to 18-way seats. -Presto! All functions working. -Still throws two error codes in PIWIS, but I think that is because of wrong control units in the seats? -Maybe I have to reprogram the seats.

Rear seats was more or less no problem to replace. Only difference is that my original seats was from 2011 model. New seats was from 2015 model. -Different connector from seats to ECU. Wires had the same colorcoding, so I simply cut the wires and resoldered them.

-Now everything is working.

are the front seats from Macan the same? They look identical but not sure if they would mount up the same. I have a 2011 cayenne and looking to put in 2015 me an front 18 way sport seats.

I love my 18 way seats.

curious, did your swap include ventilated seats? I am curious how strong they are suppose to blow. It really does seem variable, like there is a ramp up period.

o & it sounds like you swapped out the rear seats as well? what are the differences? did you take any pictures?

Any DIY or pics of your swap? I am looking to remove my passenger front seat and dry out my carpet. I have been looking for a DIY to remove the seats. I do have the entry and drive option.
