Sport mode what does it do for me?

I have a 2013 Base Cayenne with manual transmission and steel suspension.

I read that the "Sport" mode changed shift points, lowered the car , better throttle response. and changed the exhaust tone. I don't have any of those features so what does it do for me?

When I activate the mode, it definitely feels like I have more power. The throttle response is better but I can feel a difference the moment I push he button. I could have sworn I saw somewhere the HP is increased 35HP . I could be mistaken.

I've asked at a couple of dealers but they have never heard of a base Cayenne with a manual transmission and can only tell me what it does for a fully optioned car.

Thanks in advance.

Same here. I've got a 2013 manual transmission and can't figure out what the heck sport mode is doing. It's definitely changing the driving experience. Did you ever figure it out?

I found out it changes the throttle response for a much shorter lag time when pushing on the gas . Since my Cayenne has steel suspension the only changes are faster throttle response and different shift points.

On the 6MT cayennes its simply a different throttle response map. I find that I miss shifts because its so much quicker than non-sport mode. Actual acceleration is exactly the same.
