High Millage 2014 Cayenne GTS?

Looking at getting a high mileage GTS. 1 owner, 2014 GTS with close to 150k miles. Great service records and appears to be well taken care of. I am new to Porsche, so any feedback would be great. Is there still life left at 150k? Anything I should look out for before spending $100 on a PPI?

thanks in advance!

I don't believe this forum has a thread for people thinking of buying a 958.. there is a good one over on the Cayenne 958 forum on Rennlist. I highly recommend it (I wrote it..) That should answer many of your questions. As far as is the car dead at 150k miles? No.. but I imagine it's heavily discounted. The 958 series is a pretty reliable series of trucks, but as any vehicle, there will be wear caused by the miles put on. It may need suspension work, which can be rather costly. While you might get it for a great price (a small fraction of the new price) - repair prices don't drop with the depreciation. They remain a constant or even get bigger as the vehicle gets older. A Cayenne is not an economy vehicle - you will spend easily $2,000 for a full brake job. You can drop another $2,000 for a set of suitable tires. Make sure you can afford to keep the car in working order before buying it. There are few things more frustrating than having a broken car you can't afford to fix.

Good luck!

This is very well said. ^ Porsches are not inexpensive when they break and / or for routine maintenance. And they will break. So I would not overspend your budget to purchase one and then not having the resources for a major repair bill.

A PPI is much more than $100. It can be two or three hours of labor @ 150 or more an hour. Not recommending, some cars with a rather minor carfax history can be a good buy, as some can be less 10 to 20% depending on previous damages and quality of repairs. That may let you in a lower mileage Cayenne. But of course, it is critical the Cayenne is checked out by a dealer or independent that really knows these trucks. You may have to do that multiple times until you find the right one. Good luck.
