Hello everyone! Current owner of a 2002 996 C2, looking to purchase a 2017 Cayenne S with low mileage for my wife. I wondered if you guys were aware of any design issues or systemic weak points. For example, my BMW X5 XDrive50i had their terrible V8 that burned and leaked oil before outright failure at 60k miles.

Is the 3.6 Turbo engine in the Cayenne S known to be highly reliable? No oddities to worry about? The two candidate vehicles are in like new condition with a decent warranty. That said we do plan on keeping it almost 10 years.

My local mechanic said they are pretty robust and couldn't think of anything that says stay away. (e.g., the IMS issue on 996s and early 997s)
