I'm finding more and more, the roads and getting rough and I can start to feel float in the shocks over dips. I'm wanting to replace "just" the shocks on my 2012 CTT. The problem I'm having is when I search, I'll get plenty of results for like B4s for standard suspension, but I'm not finding the shocks that are seated into the airbag. Sure I can buy a full replacement air shock at $1500+, but the air ride is fine. I just want the shock, maybe a new dust boot. How can I rebuild these myself, or at very least find replacement shocks???

Am I overthinking this? You can buy the upper half, aka air bag, but not the shock that goes inside, that doesn't seem right??? Are standard shock able to plug and play with air bags, all search say incompatible fit? PFA

 

I think they are just Billstein B4 struts. I haven't seen any articles on replacing just the strut, but you have a good point. I've also found either full assembly or just the airbag assembly. Maybe they think struts never go bad?
