I have, but I am not convinced. I did the plenum (NOT IPD) on my 996tt, and saw no real gain. I am just not sure that the Porsche engineers did such a bad job of designing this part, that a simple upgrade will make much of a difference. A tune, and open exhaust all make sense. This is a DD for me, and I am not all that interested in going wild with it.

Many guys lower their CTT air suspension with either software or lowering links. I have my preference, but either is fine. The former is just a simple recalibration inside the OEM software.

Man do these depreciate.... 16 months of ownership and the first owner lost $65,000, for 29,000 miles of use. It is pretty loaded: Sport, Premium plus, Burmester, extended Espresso/Cognac, 21's with painted arches, ect.

So on to my questions:

1) Anyone have the espresso floor matts? How do they hold up?

2) a good basic mod list:

1) GIAC Tune
2) Fabspeed cat bypass
3) Airmatic lowering links
4) Black out all of the alu-chrome with wrap / Black powder coat rims
5) Acid Green brake calipers

What do you think of the mod list?

I am hoping the mods will help the CTT keep up with my wife's X5M (My old DD)!

Thanks,
So how do you like your 13 CTT so far? Can you give pros/cons? How do you compare it to the X5M?

Thank you and Happy New Year!

The X5M (e70) and the CTT are very different vehicles. After a lot of seat time in both I guess it comes down to:

1) the CTT is a nicer place to be, and to drive slowly.
2) the X5M is more dramatic, with an amazing exhaust note, stunning power, and much better handling at speed.

It just depends on what you want, the X5M is more of a toy and the CTT is a relaxing DD. If it is important, the X5M gets far more attention than the CTT.

FYI I lowered mine with links, and I love it. Not a single problem in 10k miles.

Thanks! I'm surprised you said the X5M handles better than the CTT? I've driven both and 2015 CTT w/PDCC, I felt out handled X5M and X6M.

The X5m has a clearer limit for super aggressive driving. I believe that it comes from the BMW having air suspension only in the rear. I never really feel comfortable with the CTT on the ragged edge. I am one of the goofs that shows up at a DE with a SUV, occasionally. On the track, the X5m absolutely dominates the CTT. I have not tuned my CTT yet, only added downpipes, but at stoplight drag the X5m is way ahead of the CTT every time.

But none of that makes the X5m a better DD. Exactly the opposite infact.
For me it comes down to the toy factor, is this going to be a utility DD or a toy? The CTT is a better DD the BMW is a better toy.

I am looking to lower my 11 Turbo with links - which ones did you go with? The last thing I want to do is hurt the ride quality that it is has now with PDCC.

I used the airmatic evolution links. I think the real key is not trying to go too low. I only lowered my by a bit less than an inch. On lowest setting it is at about the loading level.
