Lightbulb Cayenne 958 Turbo S Windscreen Replacement to Get Rid of Wavy Defrost/Heating Threads

[Re-posting in Turbo section]

Having been learning a lot from the forum over the past several years yet only now have I registered as I really could not find more information for an issue with my current 2014 958 Turbo S. I understand might no longer be a popularly discussed model due to the age of the model, but I personally like this particular generation of Cayenne (E2 I) more than the later ones.

Specifically, I am eagerly looking for reliable options to replace the windscreen/windshield on the car mainly to get rid of the defrosting/heating threads that are throughout the entirety of the glass. Those wavy lines are among the first things I noticed on the road after the recent purchase. From researching around, I see that people have different tolerance of those, but, coming from other 958s that had all clear glass, I personally find those extremely distracting and causing dizziness under all circumstances day and night except when looking at the car from the outside in the garage from afar, which is sadly the least useful situation. During daytime, the wavy lines add a layer of texture to everything I see out there and they even catch my sight when I look at the sky (be it blue or white or cerulean), which has a focal distance of near-infinity (or as best as eyes go). At night, the refraction and reflection create an effect of fish scale over any light that shines through. At all times, the reflection of the wavy lines renders the entire windscreen to be as if it were constantly dirty and dusty with a perfectly well-organised array of little slashes and backslashes all over. The only other way that I have found to lower the influence is to see through from a distance, at least 1.8 to 2 metres away, but that would mean driving from the rear seats. The influence to eye appears to be correlated to not just iris focal length but the ratio of distance, relative to the windscreen, of the objects (looking at) and iris (eye/lens).

Attached are reference photos, along with a set of zoomed-in screenshots - the ones with a white paper towel as background show the current type (with defrosting/heating threads), whereas the others show the clear type (from a 2011 Turbo).

From consulting with five local and non-local Porsche dealers, it seems that them mostly not very familiar with the feature and and highly reluctant to discussing putting on other types of OEM glass windscreens other than the VIN-specific option that is given by their system (i.e. the exact same thing with the wavy defrosting/heating threads). I am wondering if anyone had had undergone replacement of the windscreen on the same or a similar year & model Cayenne with either a piece from a different trim level or an aftermarket piece? Or, if any other suggestion and/or recommendation?

As a note, my car has LCA but not LDW and I only found the rain sensor and one small watch-size square sensor inside the trim covers that sit at the area around the rear-view mirror at the middle-top of the windscreen (on a previous 2011 Turbo, there was a larger wallet-size sensor with a metal plate protector, sitting at the highest middle-top of the glass; on this car, that small area is empty). And, I do not think there is any camera, although one of the Porsche dealers that I contacted mentioned that a VIN-search returned an option of "...with heated with camera". Only one other Porsche Dealer found a "without defrost" option (no further description of the glass in their system) and quoted around 1900 USD for parts & labour to install. Safelite on-line quote is about 700 USD but the website does not ask nor provide any other information about glass types and fitment other than rain sensor (with/without).

By the way, it seems there are many different parts numbers for 958 windscreen (regardless of the difference of features). The part number that one of the dealer quoted for me is 958-845-099-33. The one I had when replacing for a previous 2012 S a few years ago was 958-541-111-42. And, there are all different ones on-line (parts websites) that say a fitment for all 958 models and years yet have various parts numbers.

Please kindly try not to say "get used to it" because I really could not, notwithstanding my respect to the first owner who had ordered it. It is like having to shoot analogue or 4K/8K/IMAX with a lens that has low transmittance or layered by a fully scratched up filter - focus and aperture adjustments would not help and nor could it be fixed it in post. Alternatively, it is also like trying to see the world through a huge pack of instant ramen stuck in the face.

Thank you very much in advance!
