21" or 22" on 2012 Porsche Cayenne S

What would be a better fit for the car? Debating on whether or not I should stick with 21" since thats the max size that come with the car stock? Any thoughts?

Well, 22s seem to be quite popular and I believe there are more tire/wheel choices than in the 21" size. But personally, I would stick with the 21" for several reasons...
  • Better ride quality
  • Less worry/possibility of damage (pot holes, etc.)
  • Less weight
  • It's one of the sizes Porsche designed & tested the suspension with
  • 21 inches is already big!
Again - this is just my personal view. There are plenty of folks happily running 22s without a second thought to any of this stuff. If the roads you mainly drive on are in great shape, all of this stuff matters less...

I'll add that when I was comparing tires/prices....21" tires are much more expensive than 22" tires that fit the cayenne. That was a factor when I was looking at wheels as well.

IMO a 21" wheel with a little taller tire (not so much low profile) looks really good. But like I said tires I've found are more expensive.

And yes I'm scared for my rims with these crappy CO roads.

We would definitely say 22" on the Cayenne! Why? Besides the improved looks, with proper tires the ride shouldn't be any less comfortable than with an inch smaller wheels.

Thanks! If it were my choice, I would probably go with something like this if the Cayenne was black. But these are somewhat larger sized wheels.

I think that if you have 20" or more, PASM is mandatory !!!

I just got rid of my 22s (still sitting in the yard). Went down to 20s for more choices in at tires, but I will say the ride is significantly better with the 20s and in spirited driving I’ve seen no degradation in handling. Imo stick with 21s

I can confirm that 265/60-18 Wildpeak A/T 3W with a 2 inch lift and stock wheels will fit nicely. There might some rub on the fabric fender liner on full lock but have not felt it.
