NEW times for 1/4 mile 08 Cayenne Turbo, NEW MODS INSTALLED!!!

Hello again everyone, I went to the Palm Beach International Raceway again this past Friday and Decided to try my car again on the 1/4 mile track. I have some interesting results. First of all I installed a TUBI Style exhaust and a GIAC flash on the vehicle, (amazing service and install provided by Champion Motorsports in south Florida, thank you TOM).

I ran a total of 8 passes. First was 13.4, then a few 13.6 times. When they announced everyone to get their runs in because they will be closing I decided to make a few passes. I made 3 back to back passes consistently pulling in 13.6 times, frustrating. Then on my last pass I tried a different approach on the launch: I held the brake then stomped the gas all the way to the floor, it took a split second for the needle to climb and as soon as I saw it climb passed 2000 RPM I let go of the brake and BAM I ran a 13.2!!! Keep in mind this was with the motor very hot from running those other passes back to back.

Unfortunately it was the last pass of the night, but on the way home I was at a red light and decided to try my new technique again and this time the launch threw my stomach to the back of the seat. I think that I can probably pull a solid 12.9 - 13.0 flat next time. I will keep everyone posted next Friday when I go. Also by next Friday I plan on installing the EVOMS intake and IPD plenum. Please let me know what everyone thinks about the Plenum, I have heard alot of mixed reviews about this. Thank you and regards, Eddie.

Glad to hear that my launch suggestion worked for you. Good luck.

FWIW, I think the IPD plenum is a well made piece, however, I doubt it provides the gains they state by itself. You are better off getting a set of upgraded diverter valves to handle the additional boost since you just got a tune.

Great job Eddie, in for the results next Friday..Also what were your speeds?

Maybe have someone film with a phone or camera, would be great for the community.

I feel the same way about the plenum. I have heard more people saying its not worth it than people saying its worth it. I will have to make my decision before next friday. Thank again. P.S. I wanted to ask if there is anything I can do about intercooler piping or maybe different intercoolers? (I would like to put some cooling mods in but I have not seen anything).

Next Friday I will a friend film the runs. What is the max file size allowed to upload for vidoes? Or how does that work, this would be the first time I upload a video to a forum.
P.S. I was running 104 - 105.5 mph trap speeds.

Unlike the 955, the 957 CTT has the same intercoolers as the 957 CTTS. The only bolt-in option I have seen is from FVD. They run a cool $3K, so that is too rich for my blood considering I cannot quantify any gains from the outset.

I am working with Rob from Leistung on a set of larger charge-pipes, but it needs a larger plenum as well to see the gains. So this is in a BETA phase. I do not know if you already have them or if it stuck, but you need upgraded diverter valves before you consider buying a new plenum since you could be leaking boost.

Looking forward to the video - I agree that it would be good for the community.

i was at the track with my stock o4 and did 14.3 in the 1/4 just messing around. its fun to power up the tank and rip it down the track without fear of tickets.

I forgot to mention I do have EVOMS diverter valves installed. Before the GIAC flash my boost would indicate just a hair under 0.8 bar. After the flash install it indicates well over 0.8 bar and it holds good. So I think in that area I am ok. the plastic pipes that lead to the plenum is something that I was concerned with. I was wondering if I could replace those pipes with anything, to be honest they look very cheap and I have a phobia about those pipes just failing/poping under alot of pressure, LOL (I think the engineers that made those pipes made them to very high standards but still its in the back of my mind).

I will definitely film the runs from this Friday, I would like for everyone to keep their fingers crossed for good weather this Friday

Very nice! Looks like I am headed the same route as you, as far as performance mods go. A couple of questions about the GIAC flash. How much did it run you and did it improve/worsen gas mileage?

I already have the Tubi installed, but I'm up in the air on which ECU flash to go with.

The GIAC flash was $3,000. If you are local to South Florida I highly recommend going to Champion Motorsports to get EVERYTHING done. As far as gas mileage goes, before when I really pushed for good mileage I would get about 20 mpg on the highway, now about 19 so really not that big of a difference. Also, these are not your friendly hybrids, we bought these cars for another reason As far as which flash to buy I had the same problem. What made my decision easy was doing business with people that stand behind their product. GIAC is highly reputable and Champion Motorsports as well, and they stand behind their work and products. NOT saying others companies don't, but I leaned toward these compnaies because I personally liked what I saw, hope this helps.

I agree, I love the track every once in a while. It's a even better night when the guy next to you is laughing because he is racing a SUV, and THEN you see the look on their face when all they see is dust. PRICELESS.

Hello everyone, I did go to the track this past friday and managed to get someone to record all the action. Unfortunately, its taking him a little more time to edit the runs and make a nice video. Nonetheless it will be a great video and I will try to upload as soon as possible. Sorry for the wait.
