What OEM wheels fit my 08 Cayenne GTS?

I've searched and can't find an answer.

I'm wanting to get 19" Wheels/Tires for winter and would like to know which OEM wheels fit over my HUGE calipers.

Thank you for the help.

Also, what size tire to run on a 19" wheel.

18" wheels will fit over the calipers of your 08 GTS. I recommend these over 19" wheels since they will perform better in the winter. I am running 255/55/18 for my winter setup. Look for Pirelli Snow and Ice (Porsche recommended) or Bridgestone Blizzak (not performance oriented, but more aggressive tread for deep snow). Any OEM Cayenne 18"- 19" rim will work.

Any OEM wheel will work. You just may need to get wheel spacers.

I am actually using OZ Canyon ST 20x9.5 ET52 with 275/40/20 Dunlop Winter Sport tires. Fabulous set-up. I use RSS 15mm front and 18mm rear spacers to fill out the wheel wells.

Wheel diameter is not an issue. A smaller diameter wheel with a taller sidewall tire will help you over potholes, etc, but other than that it has no advantage whatsoever. A slightly narrower tire will have a bit of an advantage in really deep snow.

The reality is that even in winter, roads are clear of deep snow like 98% of the time. Do you really want to otherwise compromise performance for that theoretical 2% of time that you may be driving through 18" of snow?

In fact, the Porsche recommended winter set-up for a Cayenne GTS is 275/40/20 tires on 20" Sport techno wheels

Here is my winter set-up:

I got a set of 958 19" cayenne turbo wheels they're kind of like a split 5 spoke style. They came with all season Goodyear tires on my cs. I literally drove the car from the dealer to the shop and slapped on 22s. Tires and wheels have 33 miles on them and are basically new, I .know some people say like new but these really do have 33 miles on them, I bought new rims, tires and exhaust before my car even got delivered to the dealer. I don't like rolling stock on any car and always switch it out. f you're not interested in the tires and want the wheels only we can work something out. Let me know if ur interested.

Nice - Looks really sharp for winter wheels. Thanks for sharing.

A 08 GTS will not "need" spacers to clear the brakes. However, spacers may be "desired" since the offset sits inside the wheel wells pretty far. Other than aesthetics, there is no other reason to get spacers on winter wheels.

For the best interest of the forum (since it is winter season), I think it is best to clear this up - it is a fact that smaller diameter winter wheels will outperform their larger diameter counterparts in ANY adverse winter condition. While I understand why some people choose to run 20" and 21" winter tires for a balance between looks and function, it doesn't mean that they are not being biased towards aesthetics over practicality.

The simple fact of the matter is that smaller diameter wheels with its proportionally smaller width will be better in ALL winter conditions - light snow, deep snow, ice, and mix. This is not exclusive to just deep snow. Remember, the difference between getting to your destination safe and spinning out mid-turn is often a fine line when in dreary winter conditions. This also fails to mention that smaller diameter tires are cheaper, easier to find, and helps to mitigate bent wheels from rabid potholes. In this case, getting the smaller winter wheels certainly pays dividends.

Moreover, here are a couple of articles that also stress the common knowledge that smaller diameter winter wheels are the safest option:

"A 16” wheel will usually also be 2” narrower than an 18” wheel, and so take a tire that is both smaller in diameter and narrower. A smaller and narrower tire has better grip and performance in snow or ice. This is both because the smaller tire cuts through snow more effectively, and because the weight of the car is pressing on a more focused set of contact patches."

http://tires.about.com/od/understand...ter-Wheels.htm

"Winter / Snow Tire & Wheel Package: Smaller diameter wheels typically allow for a narrower tire, which results in better winter traction."

http://blog.tirerack.com/blog/make-d...iameter-wheels

"Unfortunately, wide, low profile tires have to "plow" a wide path through deep snow, where narrower tires have an easier time. "

My advice is based on my own experience of owning many performance vehicles and driving in New England winters for the past 30 years. What are theoretical advantages do not play out in real life. Part of this is due to the fact that vehicles like the Cayenne also have AWD and sophisticated traction management systems.

So.....narrower tires can give some advantage in deep snow. However, on a vehicle like the Cayenne, with so many traction enhancing features, you can stay wide and still have no problem whatsoever.

And....wheel diameter will only affect how much cushion you have. So, yes, if you are going to be going off road or are seriously worried about pot-hole damage, etc, then get smaller diameter wheels. Otherwise, a 20" wheel is just fine and gives you a nice balance of looks as well as a little added cushion for winter.

On both the Cayennes I have owned, I always used 275's in winter with absolutely phenomenal traction in all conditions. Why go narrower and give up dry road grip?(which is still 98% of the time, even in winter)
