I plan on towing a small travel trailer with my 6spd base Cayenne. I have the towing package.

The trailer sales man is saying I will need sway control and a weight distribution hitch. I do not have the air suspension so anything to reduce rear end sag would be good.

I have towed 20' competition ski boats (3500#) with a 2006 Cayenne S and now my 2008 Cayenne S. The 2006 didn't have air suspension and the new one does. I had no problems towing either even at highway speed. I think gross weight and tongue weight will be the limiting factors

 

I don't plan on towing anything very heavy maybe 3000lbs. I am concerned about the rear of the car sagging.

Thanks very informative. I am not concerned with the tongue weight only the sag when the trailer is coupled. The WD hitch is supposed to eliminate / reduce the rear end sag.
