Car shaking after replacing brakes?? HELP

Hello, I have a 06' Turbo, after replacing all brakes and rotors, the car started shaking hard at speeds of 60-70mph. On regular driving it doesn't shake only at high speeds. It was normal for about a month after instal, and now is shaking bad. What can this be from??? Please help

Best guess, would be either you have or need hub centric rings? Are these aftermarket wheels?

Or you did not install the rotor set screw tightly enough. Did you buy new rotor set screws?

Given it was fine for a month after you replaced brakes... Did you hit a pothole or swapped tires without balancing them on the wheels? I once had a set of wheels/tires that my mechanic for some reason could not properly balance and he warned me that I might experience vibrations over 60mph.

I have stock 20" wheels on the vehicle. I dont know if the mechanic used new bolts or not. As far as any potholes, I dont recall any but its possible but nothing happens while Im driving at that speed, only vibrates when I brake, how would the wheels have anything to do with that?

Well in your original message you only say that car vibrates at high speeds, you did not mention that car vibrates only when you brake. Warped rotors perhaps?

Is it possible they can get warped after a month of install? And how would I check just run my finger over it?

Check this link:

I could be wrong about warped rotor, at least going by the description provided in the link above, it is not it.

Personally I would take the car to a mechanic and have the brake system completely checked. It can't get much worse then finding yourself on the highway with non working brakes...

Sounds like one or more tires out of balance. You may have lost a wheel weight.

That's what I was thinking. Go for a balance first.

The rotor set screw is on there to make sure the rotor stays flush after the wheel hub. If the rotor set screw was not reinstalled or loose, it would cause the rotor to wobble on braking. Ask me how I know...
