Porsche Cayenne Manual Transmission Models/Years

Does anyone know exactly which years and models did Porsche release a 6 speed Manual Transmission Gearbox for in the US? Reference links would be nice, but your own knowledge is also greatly appreciated! Thank you, very curious.

I believe the manual transmission is no longer offered in the current Cayenne 958 lineup. The manual transmission was only offer on the Cayenne 955/957 GTS variants. So the real question here is what year range did the Cayenne 955/957 GTS span? I know the 957 ended in 2010, but have yet to verify when the Cayenne GTS was first offered.

According to this thread on another board, it would imply that 2008 was the first year the Cayenne GTS 6-Speed was offered. If that is correct, then the year range would be 2008-2010. In that case, that is a very narrow range. I guess many people did not opt for the manual transmission.

If this is not correct, please correct me.

The V6 958 continues to have a 6MT option, but no dealers are specing them that way so if you want a new one you have to build it.

Thanks for the clarification - I thought I saw that online, but could not confirm it; I guess this answers why. Considering that the 958 lineup has the ZF transmissions, it is hard to imagine that their manual V6 economy transmission would be as stout as the outgoing GTS "sport-variant" manual V8 transmission. Possibly a clutch change is all that would be needed to handle higher tq numbers.

Thanks for the replies! See I originally thought the 2008-2010 GTS was the only Cayenne offered with manual transmission too, however I'm seeing older base Cayenne's that have manual transmission.

Here's and example: http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-...sting=78212425

Manual transmissions have been available in the gas-powered V6 variant since 2004. The only V8 to offer the manual was the 2008-2010 (957) GTS, as Renaissance.Man said.

Thanks Tim - that makes sense. So to summarize, from MY04-Present you can get a manual transmission that mates up to the economical base V6 engine. For the V8, only MY08-10 (957) GTS.

I feel pretty confident in this information, so unless someone has something else to add, case closed.
