Battery problem

Hello, a few days ago I attempted to turn on my 2009 Porsche Cayenne and it failed to turn on. I then attached a battery charger with engine starter and it turned on fine. Once removed it did not turn on once again.

I realized it was clearly a dead battery and replaced it yesterday with an interstate MEGA-TRON PLUS 94R/H7 battery. After I finished the installation it turned on very well.

This morning I drove to the supermarket and on the way back the car failed to start and I had to manually remove the key (signifying a dead battery). I was able to boost the car and get it onto my driveway.

Is it possible that I got a faulty battery or could it be a different component.

Any help would be appreciated as I don't know what to do...

It's unlikely, but possible. It's more likely that you have a short that draining the battery, or an issue with the charging system. Have you made ANY electrical changes to the car? A new battery, alarm system, hard-wired gps or radar detector? If so, disconnect those as well. You need the car checked for a live, or dead, short.

Thank you for the reply. No changes have been made to the car. Apart from the new battery installed yesterday that failed today, the car has remained unchanged. How would I check for a live or dead short?

If you haven't made any changes, I would suspect your charging system. Either way your mechanic, or dealer, can check that for you.

If you like to work on cars, you can get a battery tester to determine the voltage.
I replaced my battery last week due to the battery is operating at 350/760Amp. It's was very easy. You just need to remove several bolts under the driver seat.

Thanks for the replies. The problem was poor contact between the battery terminal and the connections in the car. I was just surprised that it worked one day and failed the next... it was tightly secured.
