Hi Guys I need some help trouble shooting my wife's cayenne. About a month ago I replace both fuel pumps and the truck has been running great until yesterday, leaving work the truck would not start, got it towed to the house.


Here is the problem it turns over strong, will not start but when you release the ignition it continues to turn over until you turn it off to take the key out.


any help would be greatly appreciated. I am about to take it to the stealers.

 

The only time I experienced something like that was once when I fitted "bosch" MAF sensors (bought on fleabay) which turned out to be fake. Anyway, she would turn over but not start. I also remember that the problem did not start immediately , but only a few days after they were fitted. There were no warning lights or fault codes. I was able to start the car with the MAFs disconnected (with a PCM Failure warning on the dash) . The problem went away as soon as I fitted proper the OEM Porsche MAFs back. So I suggest pulling the plugs off your MAF sensors and check if she starts (there is a default mode that will allow the engine to run without MAF inputs) if it doesn't work, at least you would have eliminated one possibility.

 

Sorry, without codes or anyone with the same exact symptoms, it will be hard to say for sure what is going on here.
