I will keep this car till warranty runs out, or till I get sick of it. I say 4-5 years at about 17k mi per year. Will probably be selling/trading it with about 85k mi in 2019.


Do people like this color on the Cayenne? So few made not sure if it is a plus or a minus. I think it's pretty cool, but its a nice chunk of change to commit if people hate the color, and shy away from it. Every one likes the look, but will they throw down their nickel for it?

 

It's one of those colors where you either love it or not. I'm in the latter camp. I think I've only seen one time where I thought it was cool, SNOTRKT was the post. Maybe it was because of the pro photos.

As for resale value down the road, the fact you are asking kind of answers your question what others might be thinking when you try to sell later.

 

I was not a fan of any of the promo online pics (though I too liked snot rocket ), but then I saw one drive by on the street. I REALLY like it in person.

No question that it is a taste specific color, but as its a GTS only color option I think it will balance out as those are typically picked up by enthusiasts in the used market.

 

I quite like it, but colors like this don't tend to age well in the medium term. The blue GTS at the same dealer is also very attractive and is probably a better resale prospect in your timeframe.

 

why think about another people instead thinking of yourself? if you like this color - buy this. this will be your car. for resale one good color - black.

 

Buy what you like - I personally think the color is awesome.

However yes like someone else has mentioned - GTS trim and above only for this particular one haha.

 

You'll get killed on resale. But then again, your mileage will kill it worse so,...

 

There was a peridot GTS on the floor when I bought our truck. I was thinking there's no way I can live with it everyday.

 

I don't think it will hurt resale at all. Special colours in the Porsche realm typically do not take a hit on resale, and in many cases actually command a premium. Even more so for colours that were used in the press release & marketing photos as people tend to identify them as the "right" colour for the car.

 

I chickened out, and abandoned the Peridot car. Not sure I would Love It in 12 months. Going for White!
