upgrading steering wheel to 958.2 question

just ordered the steering wheel and airbag from a macan.

currently have a 11 ctt with multi function buttons.

i been searching the net and there are no mention of what to do with the ground cable that the 958.1 airbag has.

also since my current wheel has all the buttons, is there programing needed? is it just plug and play?

i read online that some needed a module. some did not. just want to get some clarification before i go ahead with the swap.

You dealer parts department should be able to answer all those questions.

I can't tell you for sure but my install on my 981 Cayman required a adapter to make the buttons work. I got it from gpsadapter.us. Li Paul runs the site and does all the R&D on his products, you can email him your specific situation and he will advise on what you need. He's really great about responding, and the 13 hour time difference doesn't bother him much, he seems to work about 20 hours a day.

just installed the wheel. buttons dont work. i guess it does need a adapter to convert the signals to the old canbus.

but im surprised how expensive a simple adapter is. everyone is asking around $500.
