PCM and BT phone
PCM and BT phone
Hello guys!
New member here. Just got a 2012 Cayenne Turbo, and coming from BMW territory I'm very new to the world of Porsche.
I guess this is really something I should have checked before buying, but honestly I didn't think this would be an issue on a 2012 model Porsche.
Ok, so what is my problem?
I can't get my "phone" part of my iPhone connected to the PCM. I get BT music, but in a kinda awkward way, as it newer direct connects, but me having to manually connect to the "PCM" in BT options on my iPhone X. On my BMW's this always stays in the car memory, and if I leave the car in Radio mode all I have to do is select BT in the menu.
On the Cayenne after I start it, and choose "source" I can't even see the BT AUX, I need to go in some sub-menu via the CD player. Strange... To me at least.
Last thing is BT phone isn't working, or is it supposed to be working? I mean if I press the "PHONE" button is says *"phone not available"... Googled around a bit and can it really be that BlueTooth is only for the media???
Confusing first post, I'm sorry.
My car is a EU spec car if that matters.

You need new mic in roof console, two wires and code pcm with enabling code to activate BT handsfree module. In phone mode iphone will connect each time automatically via HFP, but not means 100% auto connect with A2DP for music.
Hi, thanks for that. Yes I actually emailed my "local" Porsche dealership today and got the same answer. Price was rather steep at apron 1500 euro.... However I'm pretty darn sure my car has the microphone in the overhead panel.
Sure turbo has mic in console for audio amp, not for phone. but in some cases it ca be installed, if car was affected by recall company and whole roof console was replaced. you can check by VIN.
Else you need 957 or suitable audi mic to install in present console or buy used one with factory mic.
1500 Eur nice price. 200 Eur+2 hours labor is correct price) And less if you are lucky with replaced overhead console

How are you accessing BT via a sub-menu?
Hi, may i know how you are accessing BT from a
Sub-menu from CD player? I have a 2013 Cayenne ( Europe spec) and I am not able to find the BT option in the source. Would be very helpful if you can guide me.
Thanks in advance.
