2018 V6 vs 2020 V6
2018 V6 vs 2020 V6
Hello fellow members,
Just curious to hear any feedback regarding the engine performance on the current base cayenne vs prior gen.
I haven't driven the new car, but all cayennes I have ever driven with the V6 were disappointing. It's a heavy car and its a tall ask for a modest sized naturally aspirated engine.
The early V6s were crass and buzzy. Over the years they improved the V6 and the car got lighter which helped. With the turbo, is the new V6 still lacking smoothness and refinement?
I 'm looking to buy a pre-owned SUV. My wife is in real estate so city gas mileage is important. The diesels are too old at this point (most for sale are MY 13-14'). Drove the hybrid - didn't love it. So I'm considering a V6.
BTW, for an S"U"V, ever notice how many Cayennes don't have roof rails and a trailer hitch (both of which are necessities for me).
Thanks for any input.

I haven't yet driven the v6 in the Cayenne but I've had a Panamera v6TT (2020) for about 3 days so far (loaner with GTS is in shop) and the engine is quite nice with smooth power band. Transmissions will be different but I don't mind it at all!
Just my 2 cents!
