Dyno Day (11.15.08)
Great info Harv...to echo Dennis's question how many and placement of ...FANS? This is a huge issue with our turbos.

Actually, I will try to borrow more, but we have an in wall 3 foot diameter squirrel cage for our common FMIC cars. It will not be adequate for the side/rear mounted IC cars, so we also have 2 4 foot box fans and a few small squirrel cage fans which I use for the NSX and Audi customers.
What you dont want people coming from all accross the country to get tuned by the guy who made 500whp on a VF39ed 2.0?

Anyways, Saturday should be fun. My new camera will have just gotten here friday so this can be practice

I'm probably going to get there at 845-9. No use really dynoing my car but I want to get photos of the whole day. People who are coming for sure, say so on here. I want to make a list on the first page.
Are you getting a couple GTRs to come?
I will definitely be there around nine to dyno. Do we have a list of who all is going yet?
Yeah, and not sure on Boudler, but Longmont didn't get squat and the sun is already coming out.
Y'all are some early f'n risers :-) but I'll be there with the G in the AM to see what it puts down. Should serve as a good baseline, I'm curious as to what the 8-10k in intake and exhaust will actually do for the power on this car.

it would be interesting to see what a copy of your car at sea level puts down as well. to see what the REAL difference in hp is...I guess we can back trace it based on rated bhp if your motor is not modded.
I have heard about 365-400 when testing with AWD and 420-435 when running it RWD. But seems like it 'should' run in the low 400 range considering the 520 crank rating.
The delta between even those two confuses me a bit and not sure why you would dyno one of these RWD except on those TT cars which nobody seems to be able to build and retain the AWD system. But I suppose we will see tomorrow.
Honestly it's not like i actually 'care' persay, cause I could care less about this car being the fastest thing around (unachievable goal anyway) or to be able to tout it as such. but it should be interesting to see either way.
Stinks that the quattro isnt going to be out. but soon :-)
I have many, scattered throughout the Kingdom, I can barely keep up with the letters.

There he is.
This man right here knows what he's doing. Anyone dyno'ing this weekend is in good hands!
I just tuned on this machine last week... I look forward to seeing some numbers!

I have 1/2 inch snow on the grass and enough moisture to make the roads icy this morning, should clear up through the day, as long as the roads dont have ice, I'll be making my way to DC's around 8ish then to Dennis' by 0815-0830a. Imola, wanna take the wagon and tag along? Im leaving CoS around 0700.
