Wow! I love posts like this one. Thank you for taking the time to document this. I've tried applying Zymol carbon by hand but gave up after one panel. I guess that wax isn't meant for hand application!

Surprising information about how the paint leaves the Aston factory. I've got to stop by the local Aston dealer soon and take a good look at the paint.

Moe ... some questions for you ...

How does Zymol Wheel Cleaner compare to P21S gel wheel cleaner (as something to use for a regular wash)?

You used two Einszett products on the wheels: Tiefenpfleger and something else ... what was it?

You used a Zymol product to clean the wheels after the Zymol Wheel Cleaner (in a small white bottle) ... what was it? HD Cleanse?

Have you tried using Tiefenpfleger on the tires instead of Zymol Tyre?

Would Tiefenpfleger be a good product for black plastic trim pieces under the doors and bumpers?

the stuff moe sprays on the wheels after cleaning them is zymol wheel coat. you lets it dry on them... it works as a "shield" to make dirt and grime come off easier later

Excellent questions. Here are your answers:

1. I recently used the P21S Wheel Cleaner and absolutely loved it. I think it's excellent on wheels that need extra care. I think it's a bit more aggressive than the zymol wheel cleaner. So, if your wheels need extra help, use p21s and if your wheels are already in excellent shape, zymol is the safe and gentle way to keep them that way.

2. I used the einszett Detail Spray to wipe the wheels down and the Tiefen to condition the wheel wells.

3. The small white zymol bottle to clean the tires was Strik. It's a safe cosmoline and wax remover that takes off the gently coating that's on new tires. Strik is also excellent to get rid of tar and clean the engine.

4. I've tried Tiefen on tires and I didn't think it penetrated that well into the rubber. It pretty much sat on the surface and dried off. It's excellent in the wheel wells and as a light conditioner on the engine black plastic parts.

5. I prefer to use zymol Tyre on black trim and plastic parts. I first clean the area using einszett Cockpit Premium and then condition using zymol Tyre.

Hope this answers your questions. Let me know if you have more.

Wow Moe, looks great, my only question (to which i am sure there is a reason) is why not sealant on the wheels. I know there are products such as rejex that can help with the build up of brake dust. I seems like it would not have taken much time. Or is a product that you used similar to a sealant.

Another great question. I could have used rejex for ultimate protection. But, as long as you clean the wheels twice per month using the zymol wheel cleaner and apply the wheel coat, you're in great shape. Rejex wouldn't hurt though. Why I didn't use it also has to do with the 24 hours of curing time needed between each layer, preferabally 3 layers, needed when applying rejex.

Moe,

As per usual, the results are nothing short of spectacular. Tough to believe there would be such a difference on a brand new car, but the pictures don't lie.

Then again, with the monumental time and effort you spend on each of your clients cars, the results SHOULD be spectacular, I suppose.

My Noble (post outside storage vs. completed by Moe) is testimony to what incredible results you can achieve with the right products, knowledge and skill.

Awesome as always.

JM

Thanks Wolf; now we gotta do a photo shoot on your Noble and post it here. That's truly a cool car.

This is my car and I have to say that I am amazed, but not surprised, at Moe's job on the new car prep.

I think we were both shocked at the condition of the paint coming from the factory. The dealer routinely sends new cars to a body shop after arrival to correct the paint, but I didn't want anyone but Moe to touch the car. As far as I am concerned, the final results speak for themselves.

Yet another kick-*** detail by Moe. The guys at the dealership were very impressed with the work.

I also think that it is going to be really cool to have the new car prep photos 20 years from now.

Oh, and the Scotch had almost no influence on my opinion

And one more thing, when Moe wrote that the imperfections were minimized, he wasn't kidding. We went out to a gas station the night he finished it and looked at the paint under a bright fluorescent light. He tried to point out some remaining problems - I played along, but I really had trouble seeing anything that wasn't perfect.

Thanks man,

Rob
