Zaino or not?? U tell me

Heres a pic of what the car looked like when i waxed it weeks ago with a conventional polymer sealant wax...

Here's a pic of the car with just one coat of Zaino Z5 pro!

With a little prep work ( high-speed polishing and scratch removal I personally think Zaino in the Shizzznit!

I've used Zaino for years and it is awesome! The more coats you give it, the glossier it will be!

best thing about zaino is not the shine, it's durability. it typically last over a year of protection unlike any other wax out there.

i don't like waxing much so i've used zaino for years. i apply 3 coats every year or so on all my cars. if u want best shine/protection, put more coats of conventional wax on top of zaino or use wax-as-u-dry stuff for each car wash.

lots of people really love to bash Zaino. after using their products for 3 years, i have moved on to different things. there are better polishes out there. i liked it all when i initially used it, but there are so many better options...

Don't listen to what the latest hype is. If you like a product, stick with it. Zaino is one of the better products out there. Car looks great, you're happy, and hopefully you had a good time detailing. What more could you ask for?

i've been using zaino products for a couple years. exterior, shine is good and durable. interior, "leather in a bottle" product is tops.

i've been wondering about putting a good natural wax on top, just didn't know if it would add anything. and, i'm too cheap to invest $250 in carnauba wax just to try.

I'll extend you the offer I make to ALL my clients. If you don't like anything you've bought from me or it doesn't do what I say it does, I buy it back. So now, you've got nothing to lose.

Please enlighten us. Exactly what are you talking about? I have used Zaino for years and love it. But I am always on the look-out for newer and better things. Personally, I would be very curious to find out what you are using that is so much better.

Thanks.

Thanks Moe! As a fellow detailer u know that the outcome of any wax or polish applied to a vehicle depends on the prep work. Ive heard people bash just about every product there is on the market.... but with the proper skills or with the help of a local PROFESSIONAL detailer, it basically comes down to what type of shine u want your vehicle to bring out when working with different products. When it comes to durability that's when different waxes and polishes makes a big difference. Through years of working with numerous waxes and polishes ive learned that Zaino and Menzerna are great products!......with the PROPER prep job! (clay or High-speed polishing and scratch removal)

With great products, skill, and the love for detailing heres the outcome

3 things I personally do not like about Ziano.
1. Takes a lot of work (haven't used the newer stuff)
2. If you apply it wrong, it will streak & be dull & look bad
3. While having a ton of gloss, it's very sterol & not very deep looking.

It does last a very long time, it's to much $$ & if you got the time & like doing multi able coats, it's a great product.

I have been totally happy with 1Z wax on just about every car I have put it on. Of course if it's a garage queen or you are showing it, get a high quality Carnuba.

I'm no expert. I only have my own personal experience. I am not selling anything on here, and I have nothing to lose or gain by saying what I say, simply putting my opinion out there for people that share a hobby with me.

First off, nothing I am using is SO much better. Personal preference is the order. I am after the most reflection I can get out of my wax. Most waxes really make paint look deep. A good liquid reflection is what I love, and being able to photograph and capture that image and feeling is what I do. Given my specifications, a carnuba wax is what fits my needs. However, I learned to layer synthetic wax for durability and top with a carnuba for the best of both worlds. 2 good coats of Menzerna FMJ for protection hits my paint first. A week later, I usually slap on the 'flavor of the month' carnuba wax. Doing this gives me the look I desire, along with the durability I need if I slack on my nuba applications. P21S, Souveran, Victoria, any similarly priced product does it for me.

The problem I had with Zaino is the finish. Keep in mind that this is all subjective, and there is no right or wrong...only opinion. Zaino made my finish look like I was driving a Fisher Price plastic car. Buffing off the haze left me with a emotionless finish that I rarely got any gratification from. I continued to use it, and even purchased it as gifts for friends and family. I thought Zaino was the top, and that there was nothing better.

I got onto a few forums, the obsession grew deeper, and now I have a pretty good grasp on what I prefer out of my products.

While many people on many forums love Zaino products, and have great results with it, I simply prefer other things. Maybe this is a case of user error, and it's just me. However, once I left my old stuff behind and began exploring other brands, I got excited about my finish once again.

If anyone cares, I would be more than happy to talk about the products that I like to use. If there is no need, I wish people well with their hobby.

There is nothing better than bringing your car back to life YOURSELF, properly, and with products that you have researched.

Isn't that what I asked?? But if the best you can do is Menzerna and "flavor of the month" carnuba, I don't think we have too much to discuss. No offense, but your problems with Zaino sound like user error to me.

I have had great results with my cars - none of which look like "Fisher-Price plastic cars."

I am also not a pro or an expert, and I am not hocking any products or services. I am just after the best products I can find. Until I am convinced otherwise, I will stick with Zaino.

Thanks.

Thank you for your honesty and feedback. Nice to get insight from DIY detailers.

With all due respect, he didn't really provide much "insight." He just bashed a product and said that he uses another product and a "flavor of the month" carnuba. Then he said if "anyone cares" he would elaborate. If we didn't care we wouldn't be on a detailing forum asking his opinion.

But if you want to talk experts, I put a lot of stock in good old Randy at Fix'n Chips in Newport Beach. Honest guy and the price is right. But his shop is really run down and far from my home. I would be willing to give you a shot Moe. I will likely be in contact with you directly soon.

Take care.
