How about this scratch - help, please!
Don't want to high-jack the other thread... so here's the scratch I found today on top of the fender of our Cayenne. Anyone know what might have caused this (I think someone keyed it). So I washed, polished with Menzerna SIP, 106FF, then put on Glanz Wax...but it still shows (not as white and you can see from a certain angle)...
My question is....will it get rusted? What do I need to do now? How do I fill this scratch?
Thank you...

It's hard to tell too much from the photo, but it sure does look big enough to be through the clearcoat... it won't rust unless it's down to the metal
When you say it can still be seen, are you talking about just an indentation or an actual white-looking scratch? If it's an indentation, it was most likely not all the way through the clear and you fixed it a bit with the polishing. If it's still white it might be very deep (I can't see if it's metal or not but since you said it's barely visible I'm assuming it's not that deep).
If it still bothers you, I would suggest trying a light wet sanding, with 3000 or 4000 grit, then polish again with SIP and 106ff... if it doesn't bother you, just make sure there's no metal showing and you're good to go... I would still keep it sealed though as over time (although this would take pretty long) there could be some UV damage done if cc is missing in the spot... like I said, that's a small piece of cc missing (if it is in fact missing) so the cc damage from UV would take years and years... even then it's just a fender, quick re-spray and you're done haha

Yea, wax or sealant... I had a 1"x1" chip on my hood before that was bare metal, and Klasse Sealant Glaze kept it from rusting even a bit for a good 6-7 months, before I filled it in (badly might I add haha)
It looks like a shopping cart, or some other metal object on a person, like a key chain, or something dangling from a purse.
Can you feel it with your finger tip? You might have to add some touch up paint. It should not rust, unless it's down to the bare metal.

I think that scratch is done deeo, you might have to repainted. You can try polish it, but I doubt that it will work because it's deep through clear.
