Please, bring back the old detail forum...

I'm not sure what is happening to the car detail forum here, BUT, I want to LEARN, I want to know the trick's from the Pros, I want information that will enhance my knowledge of the art of car detailing, shinny pictures, don't do it.

I openly challenge anyone that I can post zillion pictures of shinny cars that I have done, my pictures will look as good as anyone else's, but that's not the point, I think many people feel the same way, we want to learn, as an example, in the detailing page, there's 25 slots, If you take the ones that forum members were asking questions you will see that ONLY one of the current sponsors is always helping with the answers, in another thread it was suggested that each sponsor should have their dedicated section, been a paying sponsor for many other car forums, that's how we go about this, most of them have a general detail forum and each sponsor has their dedicated section, in there the paying sponsor can post all of his information. special sales, group buys etc etc

Please no offense to anyone or any product line, All I'm saying is that many of you have a LOT of knowledge and many of us can learn a thing or two.

So please share with us.........

Let me know what area you need help in and I am gladly willing to put my $.02 in. I am always on this forum looking to help people with questions. I like when people post their pictures of their work, always curiouls to see what cars I haven't done look like all nice and shiny from a good "DETAIL". Everyone has their own opinion though. Let me know if you need any info. Good luck with the detailing!!!!

I completely agree with you 100%. I used to enjoy coming on 6speed to see and help others. Now, instead of coming here to answer questions and help the DIYer, I sense a feeling of intimidation amongst the DIYers. This forum would be nothing if we didn't have you the DIYers. This forum should be for you and about you and we are merely your teachers in the art of detailing. It's not always the caliber of car that should be worthy of recognition, it is the time, effort, and passion that goes into detailing as a hobby or an art form.

This detailing board has become a special and rewarding place for many of us. I know I have many countless hours, late night posts, and emotional connection to 6speed's detailing board. It's a place where I can hang my hat and feel like I'm amongst friends. We may have digressed from that path a bit, but I think there are some members here that won't let us lose sight of what all this is about. Thank you for caring and I know things will be different now. This is YOUR forum DIYers....we the pros are here to serve you

I think the solution is a separate forum for the sponsors to post anything and everything regarding their services, products, and detail jobs... the other, being more a DIY forum, where EVERYONE can discuss products, etc. and not have to see 15 detail threads and 2-3 "how do I clean my engine" threads...
