Dent in Leather Seat
Dent in Leather Seat
Picked up 997 today. Dealer must have a manual book or something with an edge on the passenger seat for a while and there is a linear dent in the leather. This a smooth leather sport bucket seat.
Not sure if will improve with just time. Any suggestion how to improve appearance?
Thanks.

Rich,
Use a van mounted drying apparatus to heat the leather and slowly cause it to shrink. Use moderately warm air, heat the leather in circles. this can take 20-30 min. It should greatly aid in getting the seat back to the proper shape.
Van mounted Drying apparatus is commonly known as a hair dryer.

I have a new to me 996 that is looks like someone had a GPS or Radar detector on the dash and it left 4 small indentations. I have tried a leather care product but that did little or nothing. Would the hair drier trick work or I have also heard ice might cause it to swell back up??
Unfortunately that's an issue with some full-leather dash on 996. I have a few clients that have had this happen and it's basically delaminating of the leather from the dash itself. It should be a warranty issue. Hair dryer won't do anything about that since it was heat from the sun that caused the glue to break down and the leather to detach from the dash itself.
