Langka vs drcolorchip

Anyone try these products? Results? Is there a better way to repair chips?

I've used factory touch up paint with the Langka on some minute stone chips that were on a red NSX I used to own. The results were excellent. The repair was virtually invisible, and only could bee seen under certain lights/angles IF pointed out. Keep in mind, the chips were no bigger than 1-2mm in diameter to begin with.

+1 on Langka...just be patient and take your time (as if you didn't already know that... )

I have used Dr. color chip on my 997tt and it works as advertised. The chips are now virtually invisible. Takes some patience but well worth the work.

+1 on Lanka. Good results on actual chips. Smaller are more challenging, as I tend to take out all the new paint. Still happy with the results, however, and will keep using.
I also tried Dr. ColorChip and scared the s*** out of myself. Their paint is in a solvent that goes after Porsche clearcoat REALLY fast. They do warn you about this, so you are supposed to apply and IMMEDIATELY "smudge" the paint you just applied. I tried one little spot, was too slow on the draw, and pulled off the clearcoat in a very small circle. That was my one and only experience for this one. Again, in other hands might work great.

Thanks jonc4s

Thats the kind of info i am interested in. I was going to try both kits and see which one I like the best then post results. I have some real chips and some real small ones too. I am having doubts if i even want to try the drcolorchip product.

The thing I liked about Lanka was that I do not believe there is any way to hurt anything! Either works (and some were just flawless) or it doesn't (really small defects), but a huge amount of flexibility in the process.

Please do some before/after shots. I think the process and your experience will be of value to many on this board. Can't wait to see your results

I will take b4 and after pics for sure. It might be a while as I am going to detail the car first. That won't happen for a few weeks. I will be sure to post

No results yet. Too many other projects right now. Like I said I am going to detail it first. I don't plan on doing that till after the holidays.

I purchased both products and had a go with them. IMO both products are good,,, not perfect. More of chip hiding, some come out very well . I tried the Langka first with mixed results. I think the Langka would work best with "real" stone chips. I did not have many. Most of my defects were very small. On to the Drcolorchip. This product worked well for me. I didn't have and clearcoat problems with it as feared. I accually got to the point that I enjoyed using it. Just smear the stuff on, I waited an hour then buffed off. Works well to hide road rash. I could not make an error with this stuff and the color match was very good. The car is a 996 tt with midnight blue metalic paint. One draw back is I am doing this in my garage under floresent lights. The color looks like a good match under the lights. I don't know what it will look like in natural light. Also the more you use it the better you get at it.

For my car, my skill level, color, type of defects the drcolorchip wins hands down. I am going to try the Langka on my S4. I have a couple of real chips on that car.

I learned that I really suck at taking pictures. Here is an attempt at a b4 and after shot.

WOW! Great feedback. I really enjoyed reading it. The before/afters look much better.
