both the flex xc3401 and the PC 7424 are "safe"

however the flex is what most have been going to because it is more powerful and smoother than the PC

 

The PC isn't used all that much once someone gets a hold of the flex. The two are completely different animals. FLEX is quieter, has less vibrations, more torque, better correcting ability, a true random orbital polisher, and is built very well. An excellent investment for the pro and DIYer.

 

The FLEX is SAFE and BETTER compared to the PC and high speed. Leave the high speed rotary to the professional. FLEX can be considered a hybrid between the older PC and the rotary. It corrects imperfections almost, sometimes as good, as a rotary but it's safe as a PC. This mean you won't burn paint, create further swirls, or buffer trails, Just make sure you use the correct pad/polish combo.

I don't know that this is the case. I use the PC and it's incredibly easy to use. It's the rotary that's trickier (until you "get it")

I would think that the Flex is a bit "trickier" because it has more torque, but then again, it has more torque, so it will be able to correct more quickly.

The flex is a bit trickier to use in the beginning, but it has a small learning curve. As you mentioned, the greater torque allows for better correction.

 

The first car that I did with the Flex was quite time consuming, but now it is a breeze.

Does the flex have attachments available for carpet cleaning as well?

Not sure. It is a hook-n-loop system though.

 

any body knows where can I find that carpet cleaner pad
