Bought one from Griots last year.

I tried it once on my wife's MB...scared the **** out of me. Didn't know what I was doing.

Never used it since.

If anyone wants it, I'll sell it for $75 + shipping. If you're in Socal, we can meet somewhere (so no shipping charges).

Comes with two pads and the Griots polish.

If you want to hold onto it, i'm about to set up a meguiars detailing day w/ this board. You'll get to see how to use one properly and get hands on experience

This machine shouldn't scare you, it is virtually impossible to **** up a cars paint w/ it as long as you use common sense.

Cool

I use the wax and polish pads from Griots. I also use the
microfiber wax and polish cloths and am pleased with the results!
You can get the backing plate from Griots as well. The backing plate is a Porter-Cable Catalog #18001. At the time I purchased, Griots was around the same price that I could find on the Internet. You might want to check that again! I use their
machine polishes as well as Menzerna. Is the sander (Porter-Cable 7336) at Lowes the same as a Porter-Cable 7424?
I have a P-C 7424.
