MoeClip: Engine Detailing - Rolls Royce Phantom

Here's my first attempt at what will soon be a series of how-to video tutorials.

This edition is a 4 minute tutorial on proper engine cleaning. Keep in mind, each vehicle is different and will require its own unique procedure. The techniques demonstrated in this video will apply to most newer vehicles. Main aspect to remember is to properly cover any open intake manifolds, open electrical connection, or any other water-sensitive areas. Aluminum foil works best to cover areas previously mentioned.

Hope this video helps you guys out...let me know what you think.

That giant front plastic piece sure did receive a lot of attention

Good job, that engine bay looks enormous, is it really as big in real life as it seems in the video?

It was late...I think I may have added a few clips of just the front plastic piece

Yes...the engine bay is quite big. Lots of hours under the hood.

Great work, Moe. Vids are always helpful. Need to do a start to finish detail on video. I'm a very visual oriented person

That's the plan...let me know what you like/dislike about these vids and we'll fine tune future productions. Eventually we'll have a whole vehicle complete and can offer a DVD to you guys.

Preferably HD vid (fuzzy You Tube vids are crap, esp when trying to see finer detail), each step, list of products used for each step, description of technique (if applicable)

Moe, oustanding Job! again attention to detail is cut above the rest. As for the video, just like bonehead feedback. would like to see list of products used for each step, description of technique (if applicable)

Nice job MOE,

did you use all 1Z products? Will you list them out? Did you make the movie on iMovie?

Cheers,
GREG

It would be super helpful to see how you cover the electricals/intake. I've always wanted to detail my engine bay but I'm too afraid of screwing up the electrics.

Moe -- great video!! Very instructive. My add would be to have a collection of close-up before and after shots at the end of the video. You could highlight specific areas of improvement brought out by the detailing.

For everyone that was wondering exactly what products were used in the video, here you go.

To start everything off, the citrus degreaser that was used to cover the engine, and bonnet underside is P21s Total Auto Wash.

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...to-wash/Detail

The Horse Hair brush and other detailing brush that was used was the Swissvax Wheel Brush and the EZ Detail Brush.

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...tail%2C/Detail

The Spray Wax which was used was the Einszett Spray Wax or "Detail Spray" as it is sometimes known.

http://www.glisteningperfectionstore...nish%2C/Detail

The Vinyl and Plastic Cleaner Dressing that was used is the Einszett Vinyl and Rubber protectant.

If you have any questions on how to use everything, or a more detailed explanation please feel free to PM me, I would be glad to give you a rundown on the proper usage and instructions for any of the products.

Awesome video.
Very nice step-by-step.
Soundtrack was also very cool with the video. Made it very easy to follow. I think some voice-over instructions might help in other videos that are more involved. I am sure your expertise would come through with your explanations somewhat more cleary.
Posting this at 4 a.m.?!?!?!?!?! Man you're dedicated! Great job
