Foaming gun
If you do that, you're going to have soap sitting on the car until you get to it with the mitt. That's a lot of time for the water to potentially evaporate leaving a film/streaks that will be more difficult to remove.
Let's say you foam, rinse, foam again then start mitt washing but wash off the parts that you mitt-wash as soon as you hit them. Now you're wasting product because the water will rinse off soap from the lower portions(as long as you're washing from the top down as you should) and you will be refoaming.
Foaming is nice way to pretreat the surface to break up contaminants. But I choose to not leave my pretreat on long enough for the water to start evaporating. There are exceptions to the rule tho and someone may find in their case it works. Only one way for someone to personally find out.
My take is that you can do it fast or do it right. Those two usually don't walk hand in hand.

I have to tell you. I foam, and then use the mitt with grit guard and clean water. If you use the right soap it will work just fine. No film residue and the soap will reconstitute when wet again. I live in Florida, and the soap can dry fast at any time of the day.
If my car is just lightly dusty, I can foam, then rinse without even using the bucket to get the car pretty darn clean.

i purchased this foam gun since i cant seem to find the gilmour foamaster at a decent price. i foung it at a local tractor supply co store fo $29.99. it was recommended on autopia. it seems to work well and it has a quick disconnect so you can remove the tank quickly. dont know if you can do that with the gilmour model.

I got the Gilmour Foammaster II and used it quite a bit. However, it didn't get as foamy as I wanted and it used a ton of water.
So, I got the foam attachment for my pressure washer and it works way better-it suds better and it uses less water.

What color is your Vantage? I figure on my Tungsten you would not even notice....
Well obviously the cannon attached to a PW will give a shaving cream type of a foam. While the gilmour would be more wattery. Big difference in price and equipment. With the gilmour foam gun did the totally rinse off? Or did you have to scrub the car? And if you did to scrub the car did the dirt particles come off easier?
Onyx Black.
I got this foam cannon for my pressure washer.
