Removing wheel pinstripe..How?

Had my wheels custom pinstriped with paint. is there an easy way of removing the pinstripe without damaging the original paint on the wheels (matte black)? If I use paint thinner, i run the risk of removing the matte black finish underneath?

thanks in advance

Have a professional wet-sand the car. It should come right off with no damage. Not really a DIY project, in my opinion, for something that is so easy to screw up and cause major damage relative to the cost of having it done correctly.

With it being a matte finish, it's probably powder coated. This is tough to do as a DIY project since removing the pin striping will also remove some of the paint. This will further need to be painted where you removed the pinstriping. Better leave it to a pro.

Good point. Wetsanding will get the stripe off, but will have the effect of polishing the matte finish.
