New MF Towel Source
New MF Towel Source
I had recently been searching for a place to buy a good number of Micro-Fiber towels, but everywhere I looked seemed to charge way too much for a simple 16x16 MF towel..
I posted on bimmerforums awhile ago, and a member had mentioned www.fiber-works.com as a good site for quality MF towels. I had looked at one point a few months ago, but the site appeared to be down. I kinda forgot about the site until recently when I wanted to order a bunch of towels.
I ordered just about everything on their site and when I unpackaged everything, this is what I had sitting in front of me:
Pictured at the bottom is their large Waffle Weave towel (I actually found this much much more absorbent that the Cobra Waffle Weave towels I had been using from AutoGeek). Its a very nice quality towel (I love that it is silk-trimmed) and really is offerred at a great price for what you are getting. Also shown is their assortment of polishing towels, and the small pink glass MF towel. All of the towels looked to be of very high quality and turned out be better than they looked.
On the right are the Micro Fiber Wash Mitt (something new to me, but it seemed every bit as gentle as my usual SheepSkin mitt), the MF Drying Mitt(seemed like an odd concept, but I like its ability to be easily wrung out while drying, and you can get a great amount of the car dry with just this one mitt), and lastly the MF applicator pad (didnt get even slightly loaded up when I was applying my sealant, and worked far better than do the regular yellow applicator pads).
I used these towels and mitts in the detailing of my brother's audi, posted about in another thread.
If you are familiar with PakShak and their towel quality, you will know exactly what to expect out of your FiberWorks towels, with the exception of one towel. The FiberWorks Gold Buffing Towel (silk trimmed) is crazy-absorbent. I could feel my hand being really grabbed by the fibers, and it buffed off the sealant haze extremely well, without needing to be constantly refolded or ever feeling overloaded with product.
However, unlike PakShak, the pricing seems really reasonable for MF towels. They are on average $2 less than PakShak towels, and every bit as good, if not better.
Hope you guys find this useful, as I will continue to use FiberWorks when ordering MFs.

I'll have to give them a try, i've tried almost everyone out there and I keep finding myself going back to www.exceldetail.com for the quality and price.

I just emailed back and forth with David about his pricing, and mentioned that with a nice discount code for this forum, he might be able to generate some more customers. He offered to make a discount code which would allow 6Speed Members to receive 12% off their MF orders
He said go to his site at www.fiber-works.com and then enter the discount code at the checkout. THe code for 6Speed members is: 6SPD9NcQ
Thought I would give you guys a heads-up and let you know about the nice discount. (also orders over $50 are shipped free)

Waffle-weave towels are simply incredible. I love those things. Have any of you guys tried the synthetic chamois called "The Absorber". It is an incredible product. Almsot acts like a squeegee if compressed while wiping. Doesn't have that cheesy feel you get with other synthetic chamois.

Try Costco. 16 of the 16" X 16" towels for about $11.00.

costco are similiar to the target ones. The quality doesn't compare to other sources. But they are great for interiors and wheels.
