Detailer recommendation

My 911 Black Edition is in need of a detailing job that is somewhere between a swirl removal to a mild paint correction. Can someone recommend a trustworthy detailer in my location (coastal Mississippi)?

46 views and no recommendations? This doesn't look promising...

Thanks for the links...

I think I may take this project on myself. It was either $300 for someone else to do it or $300 in tools/chemicals for me to do it.

I'll probably feel better about it if I do it myself given my OCD tendencies.

300 is cheap for paint correction on a swirled black car. I know your market might be different but up here you are north of 800 for a 2 step and a full detail. Cheap aint good and good ain't cheap.

If he or you mess up the car it will cost more than 300 to right the wrong. Practice before you take on the Porsche. I leaned by taking a class and buying the supplies at detailers domain. Phil was great.

Thanks JSF721 (I think...)

Yea, I live in one of the lowest cost geographies in the U.S. of A. and $300 is the average price for this type work. Problem is, I don't trust most of them with my Porsche. That's why I was asking for a recommendation.

I am going to check out my local "Xpert Auto Detailers" branch (Mobile, AL) to see them in action. Haven't heard too much good/bad about this group.

Fall back plan is to do it myself (after some practice on another car).

I meant no disrespect. AT ALL and I am sincerely sorry if it came off that way. I polish and detail my own car. I started learning when I purchased a black infiniti and it drove me nuts. I sent it to a pro up here and paid $ 700 in 2006 to polish the car. Looked great for a while but got all swirled up again 6 months later. Then I learned about 2 bucket washes, lambs wool pads, Random orbital machines and various pads and polishes. Took a while to get the hang of it but I did. If you do plan to do this yourself, please visit detailerdomain.com or detailingbliss.com and read and watch and ask.

it is not brain surgery, but it take time to learn. Practice on another car ort buy a hood at the junk yard.

If I can help you please PM me. Again, I am sorry if I came off as insulting, it was never my intention. I simply meant that $ 300.00 might be the going rate for an equal service given the difference in rent, hourly wages and over head in your market and mine.

Have a great 4th.

I completely agree! Perfect, top notch, correction will cost $900-$1500. To me it's almost worth it as this process can consume 4-7 days of time and 40 hours of hard labor. http://esotericdetail.com/detailing-...tion-services/

@ JSF721
Absolutely NO disrespect taken (apologies if it sounded that way)! I was making light of how cheap things are in the south. But then again, you get what you pay for...
Actually, your last post made me think. It might be best for me to learn this skill as it will be used more than once during the life of the car. I usually do a full detail in the spring and the fall. That's two candidates for a DA.

@drsullivan
I had my mind set on $1000 for a full paint correction package but no one around hear charges that much. Kinda leads me to believe that their service is not a true paint correction, more like a polish/sealant.

Thanks for the help
