Wax removal?

Searches have given me different answers on how to remove wax on a cars paint prior to sealing. I need to do a light polish and want to start to remove the wax during the wash stage first. What to wash with? Then I assume polishing will remove wax too? No claying needed as it was just done prior to wax. Then I have a ProCar spray solvent to remove residue before applying sealant. Just want to be sure it s wax free so I get a good result. So I m switching from wax to a sealant to be clear.

FYI, Synthetic wax was used. Can I use some royal purple de greaser or similar in the wash bucket? Dish soap?

Chemical solvent paint cleaners are good to use if you want to prep the paint surface prior to applying a wax (without polishing). My preference would be to use a 1:10 isopropyl alcohol IPA / Limonene (P21s Total Auto Wash) solution or DuPont’s PrepSol as they don’t leave any (silicone / mineral) oils or etc behind, as these can cause problems when polishing if they are not removed

Formulated with solvents to remove old wax, embedded dirt and light stains from paint; they help to restore gloss and remove light surface imperfection. They are designed to be used as often as required without measurably reducing paint thickness

If you are polishing the car, that will remove the wax/sealant/etc that is already on there.

I would also do as stated above and then use a surface prep product to remove any polishing oils that may be left on the surface prior to waxing/sealing/coating your paint. (also CarPro Eraser, Panel wipe by Gtechniq, or similar)

Got it, thanks, used Eraser and a dawn wash prior. Already polished now too. Came out good. Cheers!
