Looking to get a NEW 430 coupe, I don't mind waiting, but will not pay a premium over MSRP...

What's the waiting time?

Why don't you call your dealer? They will tell you.

Sorry for stating the obvious. Not real helpful of me as I look at the original post.

There is a lot of inventory out there so I would also look at buying a used car from a local dealer with which you can build a relationship and from which you can buy a new car in the future the way you want.

There is so much inventory in fact that FNA has decreed that U.S. Ferrari dealers cannot advertise used models still in production. Good luck with everything.

Can you clarify "used models still in production"? Does that mean they can't state the prices for F430s?

If you can get a F430 at MSRP, that is $30K-$50K profit right away. Its not about how long you are going to wait, its about how you can build a relationship with the dealer.

The latest Ferrari Market Letter explains that Authorized Dealers cannot advertise used models that are still in production: 599s, F430s and 612s. This is due to a "decree" by FNA.

In the latest FML there are no current production used models advertised for sale there. None. This only helps the independents who can advertise. This is FNA's way to manipulate the market and control dealers. Misguided in my opinion.

I've noticed some Ferrari dealer web sites have no current production used cars for sale while some still do.

unless you are already a F owner, your request will be a dream that never will come true. I am also looking to get a F430, new or used.

If you search this forum or ferrarichat, you will find a lot of people asking the same question you asked, and the answer is impossible.

Like "GL996TT' pointed out, if you can get an New one at MSRP, there is an instant $30-$60K profit, why would a dealer do you such big favor? They will sell the car at MSRP to some loyal customer who have owned 3,4,5 or even 10 ferrari in the past.

I saw a thread at Ferrarichat and people said there is an extra car (surplus) at the showroom, so I called and they said it went to a "Good" customer at MRSP. I also spoke to my local dealer few months ago and they also had an extra car (someone didn't want the car for some reason), and he offered that coupe to me at $30K over MSRP with no waiting and he sounds like doing me a big favor.

I also spoke to Motorcars Int'l who is not an AD but sells a lot of F cars. They have a 07 coupe with 1000miles and still asking for $30K over original MRSP.

so, even at used market, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a MSRP car (at least for 07), let alone a new MSRP car. Some 05 are still selling at MSRP or slightly above with NO warranty.

For all of us who is looking but not in the F club yet, it is a brutal reality that we MUST face and it will get worse as the 08 price will be another $30K higher due to historic low $ exchange rate. It sucks this day to buy anything European

You might try going through a broker. Mike Sheehan (ferraris-online.com) normally has access to a lot of cars not on the public market. Other option would be to bring one in from Europe where they are no longer selling for MSRP plus. Exchange rate is not great but there are plenty on the market. Belgoexports (belgoexports.com) has a lot of experience doing this.

if you dont have an EXCELLENT relationship with your dealer (regardless of whether or not it's your 1st or 5th ferrari), you will most likely not be getting a new 430 at MSRP. Regardless of the so called "surplus", demand is still much higher than inventory.

My dealer had 5 preowned F430s in inventory...of which 3 have been sold and the other 2 about to go. This is in Jan/feb in the Northeast!

Given the economy, I might wait a few months and see if demand starts to dry up.

Highly doubtful. There will always be people with plenty of $ regardless of the economy's state. These are not mass production cars. The demand will always be greater than supply.
