More then a F430 for a front engined car? That wasn't the plan was it?

Good I was afraid of them cheapening the brand with an 'entry level' Ferrari

No, the plan was for a V8 2+2 that would directly target the Porsche 911 (again).

na, no front engine f car for me. esp if it'll cost more than 430. i think it'll be a low vol seller and a flop.

Doubtful. Many will want it for its folding hardtop. I'm sure it will be nice and do well.

As for myself, I'd rather a mid engined Ferrari.

It does not surprise me to learn it's cost is higher than that of a 430.

This 149 is a "new" platform with considerable engineering costs to amortize.

The 430 evolved from the 360, and it's costs were well amortized.

I think also it's a marketing concept on the part of Ferrari to get to the group of possible new buyers.

The bottom line is that they will sell everyone as they always have.

It's not new, it's based off a Maserati platform. And once the 430 replacement comes out it will go up in price class anyway....

I thought the new car was to replace the F430. Is this it?

why are they replacing the F430 already? it's still pretty young in its lifecycle.

Honestly, its seems Ferrari has alot going,am very confused, first the was the whole thing about a 4seats F430 hardtop California roadster/coupe (MD of coarse),a track based Md car but smaller and more exclusive (small production) than the F430,then a baby 599 (which is what the F149 probably will be) a car aimed squarely at GT's like the Mercedes-Benz SL65,since the 599 is on par with the M-Benz Mclaren SLR. Anyhow,as for the price even more confusing lol,the F430 base is about $250,000 and spyder's go for $350,000 and the Scuderia will probably up to $450,000 (maybe even more),the 612 base price is about $300,000 and can easily top $400,000 with extra options and the 599 goes for $500,000+.
