Buying 430... HELP
First, you need to decide whether you want coupe or spider.
Second, you need to decide whether you want F1 or three pedals.
Third, you need to avoid the first car - it's hopelessly overpriced.
Educate yourself and buy right. There are tons of motivated sellors right now. Just ensure that all services are up to date and documented.
Sure, the car will depreciate, but prolly much less than if you bought a new BMW or AMG.
Good luck!

Have you been drinking, dude?
Have you heard of aftermarket parts?
If the stitching is not contrasting is that going to diminish the car's enjoyment? Get a life.
Look at the vehicle for what it is and for what you can alter to your taste. You can have the challenge grille added. Very few 430's are sold with the challenge grille.
I really think you are looking for an excuse not to buy a car.
Get with the program, take an asprin, and stop asking questions and do serious thinking.
If not, buy a Ford Focus!

Adding interior trim pieces with aftermarket stuff is a joke on a Ferrari.
As for the Challenge grille, unlike a 360, it is actually not trivial nor cheap to retrofit on to a 430 without the factory option. You pretty much have to change the entire upper section of the bumper, and it can easily cost over $10K to do it right.
You are looking at very different items. An all black coupe as you've described sounds great to me without taking the big hit. Who cares if you are the 4th owner unless the car isn't in good shape or the miles are high. As for the spider, great-looking no doubt but unless you are dying to have a convertible then why?
Good luck
Not my car, i thought he was taking in one from a customer.
Personally I would strongly consider PCH's car, as its attractively priced and very nicely optioned. Chances are slim to nil that you will find a pre-owned that is optioned out precisely as you wish. If you are adamant on buying the right combo of colors/options then you pretty much have to order a new one, which isn't as difficult to do in current environment considering you're a first time owner.
just wait...
dsu,
In my opinion, I (and apparently many others) would not consider buying a 430 right now. When you combine the economy with fact that they made significantly more 430s than other model in history, simple supply and demand will affect the price of these cars significantly in the next 6-12 months. No matter how "good" of a deal you get on one right now, the car is going to be worth $30k less within 6 months. Can you wait? If so, I would. If you're only keeping the car for a year a two, these things have to be considered. Just my opinion, of course. Good luck on whatever decision you make--that's a wonderful position to be in!

Hi
I have been dreaming of owning a F430 since it first came out, and now is my chance. There are two cars on my mind right now, but I'm not sure which one is a better buy, value wise. So as part of the 6speed family, I hope people can give me some advice and opinions.
Both cars are Black on Black.
1st car:
2006 F430 F1 Coupe with 3300 miles.
2nd Car:
Brand new 2008 F430 F1 Spider
Or I have an option to get a New 599 Red/Tan for MSRP.
I understand a car is not an investment. But I'm planning to keep the car for a year or two, which car will keep is value the most? In another words, which car would you buy for the money?

Second, to look at this as a value proposition is utterly stupid. I can almost guarantee that whichever one you pick will be the one that will end up losing the most value. Just like trying to pick the right line in the supermarket.

Third, have you ever sold a car before? Obviously, the used car will hold its value better. The first year depreciation, which is the worst of it, has already been taken. (Although the asking price is way too high; easily he'll take $25k off of that so negotiate hard.)
So now, to change your way of thinking, I would suggest that you ignore the value. Luckily the 3 cars you have given us are all different (coupe, spider, 599) so the answer is easy. Pick the style you really dreamt of and don't look back.
