according to yahoo. Just read an article about cars that you can't have. According to the article Califorinas, 599s, and 458's are impossible to buy for the non chosen.
This may be the case with the 458 but I doubt it on the other two. So are they off base or is this still true

Yahoo seems like a bunch of clowns. I hate their email mail system, I hate their web hosting, I hate their customer service, I hate the stupid typos and there HUGE LACK of legitimacy in their news reports. Mind you im dyslexic too! Seriously they suck and I wouldn't listen to them if the told me all new water is contaminated poisonous. I once read this article they wrote that said something like. What men think about woman. Out of the 10 then not Fcking one of them I rated to and I think im a pretty normal dude. I also felt my brother or any of my male friends had nothing in commen with what they stated to be facts, just seemed to be written by a woman that probably has no fcking clue what she was talking about. Who ever wrote it can eat a ****. I will never listen to what they have to say ever again.
But OP. Last time I checked money can get you almost anything. So if you have make in the plus 150's a year you probably can get one or if you just happened to have that kinda cash laying around. I dont think a ferrari dealer would tell you sorry. plus they are looking at it all wrong. They should be saying wow 360's can be found in the same price range as a brand new mid end lexus. Wow thats great value. Such a great car and now there fairly affordable. I guess those bastards look at the glass half full. Im not surprised.

I live in Vienna, I don't know if this article is talking only about the US market, but here, there are 2 brand new Californias in the show room, but when I asked about the 458s, they said 2 years wait when ordered from factory by the dealer.. you can get them in the market but for a premium of course
It is similar in the US market
anyone with enough cash can buy a cali or 599 just buy walking in. I was offered a chance to buy the 458 but its just not my cup of tea

You can find a few 360s for under $100k in the $85k price range at the least. Still not a mid-range Lexus.
Depending on year, color, options, miles, service history, and condition of the vehicle, the 360s have really come down in price. As much as I hate to admit the depreciation as an owner, it is the reality. They are selling between 60s to around 100k. Wholesale prices start from around 50s, pretty sad for such a nice vehicle. Unlike a BMW/Lexus/Merc, Ferrari have such a high service and repair cost so condition and service intervals are driving the discrepancies. If you are due for a major, then likely the cars will need to be discounted higher than those that just had its belt/variator services. I think the comment that 360 prices are now comparable to mid range Lexus is not totally out of line, but only from acquisition price point of view. But to be able to maintain a Ferrari vs. a Lexus is a totally different story.

This article makes more sense if you look at it as a "ordered" vehicle. The California seems to be the easiest to find new on the showroom floor due to the expected demand. There will always be speculator cars, with enough money you can get almost anything, but it takes time to get what you want.
You can walk into a dealer and buy a new vehicle off the floor at the moment. This includes the 599, 612 and, probably, the California (although, perhaps not). The 16M Spiders and 458s are waiting list only at this point. This will change, too.

Why would Ferrari be affordable? If your avg joe making $80k can afford it, what's the point of having a supercar? Why would Lexus and Ferrari be even compared or considered in a purchase?
Lamborghini of Chicago sent me an email asking if I was interested in a 458 black with tan so they are available. To be candid, twice my wife and I tried to buy a F430 from the local (Tampa) dealer and twice were turned off by their total lack of interest even though both times we were looking a specific cars on the showroom floor. We currently have two 997 Porsches and just ordered a Cayenne as we need the ability to car things home from the store but the local Porsche dealer treats us like royalty.
Not totally true at this time but hopefully within a year or so. It looks like the current situation on the 458 is like looking for chicken lips. I didn't ask the price but at least somebody had one for sale.
The problem with the 360 is that I need a car for everyday use. I had earlier cars that I used for 1,000 miles per year and at the end of the day, didn't enjoy them. The Porsche Turbo is used every time I can.

It's all about who you know and how much your willing to pay. The new Ferrari's in the beginning are usually harder to get. After a few months or that first year hurdle, people are stuck with them because they can't find anyone to pay the high markups, then they become more available. That's at least what I notice around here and online.
This is the same way I look upon it. I'll wait a year or so and then get serious about a 458 Italia. What gets me is the number of F430 with "independent" dealers who all want to make a killing. It is quite surprising that more are not available privately.
