From 911 to F430

Anyone who transferred from a 997.2 to an F430(regardless of year)?

I can afford to keep the porsche but I am planning to trade my 997.2 C4S.
It just does not seem right to have 2 sports cars.

My C4S is my baby and has kept it like the queen in my garage.

I want a ferrari and after watching the prices go down for 1 year(yes 1 year), I think this is the time to get one and enjoy it.

Anybody who was in thesame situation? Have you been sorry you traded the porsche for a ferrari?

I had 997 turbo, and sometime I do miss the Porsche feels, but probably once in a million second... . Every time you are in the f430, it just puts 100X smile on your face, and my 997turbo had 750 hp... Hahahaha DO IT!!!

I just traded my 997 turbo for an 08 scuderia! This car is insane! You won't miss the Porsche at all.

i think if you have a GT3 RS, then you might have to worry, but you don't... so do it.

Agree with this. I went from a 997 Turbo to an F430...don't miss the turbo at all. However, I am thinking about a 997.2 GT3RS, mainly because of service issues (5 mins to dealership for Porsche, 2 hours for Ferrari), along with the fact that the Ferrari attracts way too much attention.

If I were you I would do it. It really is a no brainer.

Thanks for all your input.

Lets say all thing thesame mileage, options, color and interior, is there any difference if it is an 05 or 07 F430. 05 maybe cheaper but am I getting more for the 07?

3 dealers are bugging me as we speak.

I'm not aware of any significant difference other than the fact that '05 was the first year and any bugs would have hopefully been ironed out by '07. Having said that, I don't remember reading about any issues when I was looking for my car. Carbon ceramics became standard in 2008 and that's the year the car got updated exhaust manifolds. The manifolds are a known problem and will almost certainly fail, so I would check to see if they have been replaced. They fall under an 8 year emissions warranty but if they fail after that, you are probably SOL and will have to pay out of pocket.

I committed to the 07 f430, its mine now.

Can somebody comment on this:

Is a ferrari with No DAYTONA seats a deal breaker. It did not really make a difference with me since my M5 has sports seats and it is uncomfortable. The bolster area really sticks out.

But another dealer is telling me to buy theirs since it has daytonas and for resale value. I would rather have bluetooth and ipod than a sport seats.

Anybody can confirm what the other dealer is saying?

well, committed and financing is in place. Not signed yet though. It would happen next week.

Options: 2007 F430 coupe red color-beige interior-Bluetooth, Ipod, scudera shields, skid plates, leather headliner and rear shelf, Hi-fi sounds, electric seats, red calipers, and Power warranty(not just Power train warranty) for $140T.

the other dealer is 06 is $137, scudera shields, daytona seats, red caliper, fire extinguisher, NAV, HiFi sound, leather headliner and shelf. No warranty.

I went from a '11 Turbo S to '08 Scuderia. I do miss the 911 from time to time but the Ferrari definitely is more exciting and attracts tons of attention. If I have enough garage space, I'd kept the 911.

You read my mind exactly!! This two cars are the pinnacle of sport cars. Both have different personalities. I am trying to see if I can keep my c4s.

Buy the 07 since it has warranty which is worth a few grand itself. Besides the seats, the two cars are similarly optioned. Daytona seats look better but don't have bigger bolsters I don't think. Gwt ready for the attn the car calls. Tinted window may be a good idea forprivcy reasons.

Have the cars inspected for paint work and other issues. Warranty doesn't cover everything a new car warranty covers.
