Picked up a 2006 F430 with 26K miles. Only issue I've noticed is when driven for over 30 minutes I have to wait nearly 1-2 minutes in order for the "Reverse" to kick in. If I go into 1st, then into Reverse it's fine, but I figure for a Ferrari it shouldn't be like this. Right? Wrong? Thanks for your help. New to the Ferrari family..

 

i have an 14k '06 and have had that happen to me a occassionaly too. seems to happen on rides of an hour or more with me. i thought i had it pinned down to hour or more harder drives-- but blew that theory when it happened on a casual ride of about 75 mins. had my indie shop (radcliffe)check it out when i brought it in for an annual last summer and they came up with zilch-- if i restart the car it will usually go into "R" but there has been a time or two when even that didn't work.

 

911 C4S, Just go back to Porsche. There really is no substitute.
If that happens to me, I would walk away from the car very upset.

 

You would think a car over 100K $$$ would not have this issue! My 2004 Camry goes into reverse with no problem! What to do!

 

well other than that issue the car has been rock solid over the past year and 7k miles and if i had to do it over again, i'd buy it in a minute-while it shouldn't happen, if that's the worst of my troubles i'll live with it. come on.......their f- cars comes with the territory-- haha!

I have an 05 430 Spider and haven't come across this but I'm sure you guys aren't the first.

 

Never heard of this issue. It could be a software glitch. I would have the dealer look into it.

I say dont let this con't it may get worse, do a diagnostic test at your local dealer for 150 bucks, some dealers because they want your business and they will do it free. Good luck with everything, the 430s are great, but since I bought my 991S i have been depriving the Ferrari any play time....
