Ideas on how to get a LaFerrari

This is a nice problem to have, but a good friend wants a LaFerrari, owns a Ferrari but doesn't have the history of purchasing Ferraris that would get him on a "list." He understands he'll have to pay a significant mark-up.

Anybody have any ideas or leads on how he might get one, or is this a pipe dream?

I thought Bobby G has all the answers. They were completely sold out so your friend is out of luck. Ferrarichat.com is probably a better place to answer your question.

Hate to say it but there are unscrupulous dealers out there that will float allocations to "motivated" buyers. I know of at least 1 person who had their 458 spyder delivery delayed twice with absolutely no good explanation. He finally cancelled his order and got a mclaren but speculation was that the dealer got his pocket stuffed to hand the allocation over to a third party buyer

This happens in the luxury market all the time, especially with limited or special editions. Take a look at the high end watch world and you'll see it just the same

Not advocating that your friend do the same, just answer your question as it relatives to "ideas on how to get a LaFerrari"

Cheers

They are all sold. The only option I see is to pay a Ferrari dealer an absurd mark-up on a used one in 1-2 years. Everyone who is getting one will either keep it or flip it back to the dealer.

once its release, i'm sure there will be dealers worldwide flipping it. But there would be no way to spec one the way you want it brand new directly from Ferrari.

As long as he got the cash, there will be always a way to get one. Just like it is still possible to get a Reventon or CLK GTR!
