Doc:

I'm scared to even click on it.

Just this morning, as we were coming back from riding dirt bikes, my nine-year-old said "hey dad, when are going to get an F40?" To which I replied, "When Ed McMahon shows up on our doorstep."

I'm Jonesing for a like-new F40 bad though . . . It's gonna happen sooner or later. I'm just hoping for later, because I know that's one I will keep forever.

What are the differences between 1991 and 1992?

Just a slight difference in paint...the '92 had a extra primer coat which made the paint look thicker...

You won't regret it...if I could only keep one, it would be the one.

That one has been listed a few times, from what I hear he wants F50 money for it.

Do you know what he is looking for? 650, 700?

Doc,

What is the right price for this car?

450-500k is probably not unreasonable.

Yes this car was listed a few times. I believe he initially wanted $900k for it. That is way too high... as evidenced by his inability to sell the car. I agree with RufMD about the price range. I say $500k tops... though its really what someone is willing to pay for it. Amazing car though!

It does depend on the buyer, obviously. But the fact that it has never been titled and has only 326 miles does not really have any more appeal to me personally than a one or two owner car with a couple of thousand miles that is in perfect shape, and has actually been driven a little. I would rather spend 375-425 for a car like I described than 500 for this one. But more power to them. Hope they get a fortune, although I would prefer the market not go completely crazy until AFTER I get one . . .

Yeah I understand that. Though even now the market is starting to go up. An excellent example should be around $375k or so... but cars are already starting to command a higher rate than that. On one hand its amazing the cars hold so much value and is appreciated by people to that extent... but on the other hand its also a pity. Those cars should be driven... and driven hard... rather than be treated in the market like paintings. Dunno.
