Alex, try to stay away from the first year: 99 + F1's...have heard horror stories. If you can swing it, I'd look 02+. Engine out maintenances are no bueno on this car but I guess if you can afford the car, be prepared for the maintenance. FYI, replacement parts for the F1 tranny are quite expensive...

Until mid-way through 2000 production, F1 360's had throw out bearing problems. If you are getting a car with limited history, I'd stick with '01+ to ensure not getting a problematic transmission (F1 only). It's hard to tell if MY 2000 cars are 2000.5+ or not, which makes it hard to tell if the problem had been addressed on a particular car-- but call the service manager at your local dealer with the VIN and he'll tell you. Of course, a '99 with a replaced clutch and recall performed on the throw out bearings (documented) will be fine as well. I also think the 99's are actually faster because they don't have pre-cats, but I might be wrong so don't quote on that one.
One thing is for sure, you won't be dissappointed with the car, they look fabulous from every angle, sound great all the time, and go very very well. Good luck!

I just bought an 04. Pricey, but has all the refinements of the 360 chassis.
99's are rumored to be faster due to lack of precats in the headers and lack of auxialliary air pump. OTOH, the have none of the improvements that were implemented over the years, and won't have the interior of the later cars.
Love my new car. From the smell of the leather to the steering feel, to the engine note. Go for it.
The only thing that might pull it out of my hands is the 430.

Not only are the "Engine out maintenances" no bueno, they are not even necessary
