Top speed racing...

Many of you know and have participated in the Miami Mile/MileMarker-1 event that has been held for the past few years in Collier/Dade county.

I know they are having some problems with the county(ies) in getting some crap squared away for another event.

Max, the promoter, is trying to get some feedback to see if anyone is interested in a 1/2 mile race in the interim.

Please email him if you are interested! I, for one, would love to do some type of top speed runs again!

MileMarker1llc@gmail.com

Shoot him an email at the above address!

I was on their website last week and sent them an E-Mail. Driving down from CLW wont be really worth it for only a 1/2mile event. Hope they can get the Full mile back.

I'd be game.

Porsche997tt...why do you think that?

I think people underestimate the 1/2 mile. Most of the thrill for a mile even or 1/2 mile event occur in the first 1/4 mile...law of diminishing returns tells me that your "pleasure" diminishes as your rate in which you pick up speed diminishes. I think 1/2 mile > than full mile. Theres not that much fun gaining 20 or so MPH in the course of the 2nd half of the mile. AND more people get to go in a shorter period of time.

That is true^

If they have an event I'll make a run South. Haven't been down for a long drive in awhile.

1/4mile...

Looks awesome. Allowing fr a rolling start is great. 1st gear is pure hell in a tuned 997tt.

Only down side is the drive 280miles one way.

I have done the 1 mile 3 times and is definitely a rush. My guess is that 1/2 mile is better than nothing, unfortunately for me, this is 10 hours away from me

inside view of what it looks like in the mile
